Great cruise! Would love to go on another. The staff were all kind and excellent and the ship is in great condition for it's age.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We booked for an 11:30 a.m. embarkation time and we showed up at the port around 11:20. We were greeted by Port employees that checked our bags. My wife and I use passports so we were able to get through the lines quickly. When we got to the waiting area, we were called onto the ship within 3 minutes. Once I'm bored we were able to get up to the Lido deck and got lunch at Mongolian walk and Guys Burgers. At 1:30 the room is opened up but our bags were not there. We waited another 30 to 45 minutes for our bags to show up and then began unpacking.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We ate breakfast and dinner most days in the dining rooms. The app is wonderful to check in before going down to the dining area. All of the food came out perfectly and the staff were friendly.
Pretty much every day without fail I would eat at my Mongolian Wok and my wife would eat at Guys Burgers. The food was always delicious but the lines at Mongolian Wok were always long.
I always eat copious amounts of ice cream while on Carnival ships. And there were times where I was just disappointed that there were out of ice cream or they were out of cones.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Enjoyed the hot tubs and the pools. They were always at the right temperature and were kept clean.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Austin the cruise director did a wonderful job entertaining everybody. The Comedians were better on this ship than some of the comedy shows that I've been to in the past.
Children's Programs
No kids
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We have never had a bad experience with the staff. They are always intensive and work very hard to make sure that each and every person feels important.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship looks great for her age but some rust is starting to show. Every area that I went into was well maintained though. I'm always surprised at how clean the furniture and the floors are.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin was small, with an even smaller bathroom. We were not given any bars of soap for the duration of the cruise. The room was warmer than we wanted, and we brought three fans to cool it down. We tend to sleep in our home at 66 degrees at night, so it was a little uncomfortable for us to sleep in 72° to 74° weather.
Ship tip
If you're going to buy the bubbles package think about just adding a credit to your sail and sign account. It's about $10 a day for each person if you buy the bubbles package and each of the sodas only cost $3. If you only drink one or two beverages a day then you are losing money.
I'm not a fan of all the shopkeepers trying to get people on the bus to visit their shops. There were times in Progresso that I was left sad or felt unsafe because of the conditions that the bus had to go through.
