Carnival cruises are always a good time, but you get what you pay for. Old ships, no A/C in the theaters half the time, no AC in the room and broken washers and dryers. It is a good bargain cruise if that's what you are looking for.

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our waiters were awesome and called us by name from day 1. Service was excellent. Room steward was amazing as well and kept our room in great shape.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Ship inside was very clean. Lots of trash blowing around on the outer decks. Carnival could save themselves a lot of cleanup work just by providing more trash cans around the ship. Ship is very old and outdated.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Size is good for 2 people not 4 but I understand they have to be small. A/C did not work in our cabin and it is very outdated, old and ratty looking. Steward kept it very clean though.
Ship tip
Good luck trying to wash your clothes onboard. Only about a third of the washers and dryers actually work.
We just cruised on the Valor earlier this month. Everything was top notch. Glad I brought my long jammies because our room was frigid as my hubby likes it and kept heading to the balcony to "warm up". Even though it is an older ship it was spotless and the crew were amazing as usual.
Appreciate your feedback. Perhaps keeping washers and dryers working is on reason Carnival is not including them on the newer ships. Sorry this older ship didn’t meet your expectations.
Good review. But not fair to lump all 8f Carnival under the review for the Valor. There certainly are much newer and better ships and we've never had any AC problems on any of the 16 different Carnival ships we have sailed.
