Review summary

Great time with my kids. Wonderful staff. Try it!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Our embarkation was running late because a storm happened in the middle of the swap-over between disembarking the old passengers and greeting the new. A severe 65 mile an hour thunderstorm. All of that said, they kept us safe, kept us moving and got us on our way as quickly as possible! Very professional and friendly staff at the port handling everything!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
My daughter is vegan and the MDR staff went above and beyond to make her comfortable and to make her food choices as interesting and delicious as the rest of our group. Overall we enjoyed the food all over the ship.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
If you are bored on a cruise - you’re just not trying to have fun! The older, smaller ships do not have as many bells and whistles as some of the newer ones, but there are plenty of things to enjoy.

Entertainment

We love the shows!! And the bands on board were really good. We especially loved the America Rocks show and the cover band that also performed in the Pub.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had our favorite waitstaff in the MDR out of all of the cruises we have done so far. They even came and told us goodbye the morning we disembarked.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Is it an older ship? Yes. Does it need a few touch ups? Yes. But we found our stateroom clean and everywhere we went was taken care off as well.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our first try at an aft cabin and it did not disappoint!! Beds were great, clean and soft. Balcony was huge and we loved the extra space to stretch out! Who needs to fight the chair hogs on the lido when you can sun on your balcony!

Ship tip

Find a hotel that does a cruise and park special and get dropped off at the door. The traffic is super congested at the port.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

We love New Orleans - it’s a busy town and lots to do! But when there are festivals or events in town it gets really hard to get around. Be patient and laissez les bon temps rouler!

Cozumel, Mexico

My kids did a zip line excursion with snorkeling and beach time and loved it. I stayed on board this time, but lots of great shopping and food and in port for those who don’t want to do an excursion. Also several beaches pretty close to port.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
We stayed in port and did the Mayan Spa. It was amazing and a very cool experience with a shaman. Well worth your time and money. There is plenty to do without leaving the port area. Even a pool with a swim up bar! So at least get off the ship and check it out!

Disembarkation

We literally never slowed down once we got in line to get off. The facial recognition system for the passport holders was awesome! We were in our car and on the road by 7:15!
