Review summary
This cruise was a test. The last cruise we took with Carnival was several years ago and it was dreadful. Dirty ship, poor food and ZERO entertainment. We vowed we would never sail with Carnival again and turned to a competitor as a result. Carnival passed the test with flying colors; this whole trip was a real pleasure. "Valor" was beautifully equipped, the interior was spectacular; our stateroom was welcoming and attractive; food selections were well thought out, well presented and with the exception of the steaks offered, cooked to perfection. Breakfast one morning was a bit disappointing when my wife found a black hair her food. We reported it to a steward and were very impressed when the Chef came to our table and apologized. The entertainment was outstanding, great sets and professional talent. Our only real complaint was with the disembarking; while it should have gone smoothly, it was almost a disaster and took way longer than expected.Embarkation

Ship tip
Be there early, traffic in NOLA is really bad, especially on days that here are sailings
