Review summary

Carnival Cruise Lines are the only way I’ll sail. I’ve had 4 great cruises and the first time I tried another company I felt robbed of my time and insulted. Norwegian could have cared less too. I’ll make sure anyone I hear mention a cruise hears about the rip off that is Norwegian

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Great food options. Every restaurant was great and so many options to choose from that’s included in cruise fare already unlike Norwegian

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I took the exact cruise a month ago with Norwegian and yes Norwegian May have had more outdoor activities but they were barely open. I noticed carnival vista next to us with plenty of outdoor activities that were open at port. Norwegians was closed at port and when sailing only open for 2-3 hours a day.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Also unlike Norwegian there were plenty of outdoor parties. The one interesting party Norwegian had outdoors I missed bc I couldn’t get an itinerary although asking all day. Then the party started at 11 and was over by 12:30.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I wasn’t ignored by customer service. When I had questions or needs they were dealt with ASAP 24/7

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very easy to get around

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Twice the size of its equal on the Norwegian ship

Ship tip

I felt so robbed of my time off and wasted vacation time I was deeply disappointed so my husband surprised me with a cruise line we had taken before and enjoyed. I was offered 100$ off towards a future Norwegian cruise but gladly paid more. Trust me they may be running cheaper tickets but they have sneaky charges and what’s the savings worth if you’re stuck on a boat with nothing to do. Activities were all extra or classes that were free we were told reservations weren’t needed only to find out differently. Also you’re allowed to bring can cokes and carton juices which Norwegian forbids. This saved a lot. Internet packages were cheaper and we weren’t nickel and dimmed to death

Carnival is what you make it. I feel like they're family. Norwegian makes me feel like an outsider. The food on our last Norwegian, even in the specialty restaurants apart from the French, was horrible. I'm heading back on Norwegian this year because they comped me another free one, and perhaps I'll find ot was just a fluke.

I was on the Valor in April and have been on 4 Carnival and 7 Norweigan cruises. All have been great! I would add however Valor was the best ship out of all four Carnival I did. Most of their ships are dated and gaudy. Unlike Norweigan fleet which are beautiful. I agree that Carnival has great free food. However I have always enjoyed Norweigan's as well. The entertainment is racier on Carnival, which is a personal preference depending on the person. I have always had great service with both most of the time. The thing that causes me pause to go back to Carnival is the cleanliness. Their ships are not as clean and there is no push for hand washing compared to all other cruises I have been on. That has concerned me on my last few with them. Either way, cruising is amazing and a great way to travel and unplug. But with anytime dining, competitive rates, great amenities and strong cleanliness, I am likely to lean to Norweigan first. Either way, bon voyage for anyone who has caught the passion for this amazing vacation life!
