Review summary

We found this cruise to be very relaxing but you can make it a very adventurous cruise if you choose. The ship is older so it doesn't have some of the latest features of newer ships. But still plenty to do. The night time activities were really fun.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We forgot our passports and didn't have our birth certificates. They guided us thru each step and with the help of our daughter we were able to get photos of our birth certificates to the Carnival staff. They were extremely patient and professional.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Dining room food was good. Some meals were great. Buffets are hit or miss. Did not do a specialty restaurant.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We really enjoyed the nightly shows and the trivia contests. Karaoke was fun too.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows and music were excellent.

Children's Programs

No children with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our waiters were amazing. Our room stewards were great. But we never met them.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This is an older Carnival vessel. It seemed to be well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
About mid trip the toilet began to have a very slight foul smell. Nothing to complain about. Maybe a good deep clean middle of the voyage would help this.

Ship tip

If you like music this cruise is for you. There are a lot of options across all genres.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

5 out of 5
No excursion. We arrived 2 days before the cruise began. We loved New Orleans. Truly one of Americas great cities.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
We did an excursion. It was a late purchase. It was ok. I feel Cozumel is more of a destination site than a one day visit site.

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

5 out of 5
We purchased an excursion well before the cruise. We loved seeing Mayan ruins and visiting the city of Merida. Lots of history in Merida. If you enjoy history you will enjoy this city.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We had an early flight home. The staff got us off in the first phase of disembarkation. Very well organized.
