Review summary

Our experience wasn’t a terrible one. We had some laughs and enjoyed the shows we went do. Food was alright. We found that the workers did not want to do anything to make our experience above and beyond into what it could have been. I think we will stick with Norwegian and Royal Caribbean.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
There were a lot of selections but the quality of the food was not there. We found ourselves not eating as much

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We enjoyed the comedians on board and some of the adult friendly shows.

Service and Staff

The biggest issue we had was with dining. We aren’t picky eaters but certain options we did not like in the main dining room so we asked for them to be made a little differently. They were unable to give us green beans without bacon. They were unable to provide certain soups instead of others. The most absurd was when I asked for a Caesar salad without fish in it and I got a bowl of lettuce with mayonnaise.

Cabin / Stateroom

We were a little thrown off when we’d come back in the evenings and find our room had not been serviced since the morning time. I called room service on the third day and was told we should have been explained to by our room steward that we could choose morning/evening/or both. When we were introduced we were told to pick between two different times of day. We prepaid our gratuities so it was a little frustrating taking a nap in the afternoon and coming back from shows in the evening to a messy room to sleep in.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

5 out of 5
We stayed for a couple days before and a couple days after our cruise. New Orleans was the highlight of our trip.

Cozumel, Mexico

Not at all safe even in the tourist areas. We kept getting offered drugs and they are unrelenting with trying to get you to buy things and go into their shops. Unless you do an excursion I’d say it isn’t even worth getting off of the ship. It’s beautiful but looks can be deceiving! Our excursion got cancelled and after about a half hour of sightseeing we’d had enough and went back onboard.

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

3 out of 5
More unrelenting people trying to get you into their shops to make purchases. Seemed safer but not a whole lot to do unless you book an excursion. They had a free shuttle to the city where you could purchase excursions but if you don’t there’s about 8 Additional shops you can check out. I wouldn’t venture out of this main area though.

You have ZERO cruises under your profile, so this is a bogus review. Get a life.

I have never felt unsafe in Cozumel. When would they have offered you a Cesar Salad with fish in it because a Cesar salad doesn't have fish in it I'm calling straight bull on this review. Sorry.

We have never found a port unsafe. I'm more afraid to walk around Chicago than anywhere else. If you have dietary restrictions or preferences, you must let the head waiter know or let them know before you board. Normally then, you will be able to order your meals the night before.

It seems like cruising, and maybe travel outside the US isn’t for you. It’s difficult for the kitchen to prepare special items on demand when they are feeding several thousand people. If you have special dietary needs, let then know before you say them and they should be able to accommodate you. As far as the safety in Cozumel, you were much safer there than in New Orleans or most any other major US city. The murder rate in New Orleans is twice that of the state of Quintana Roo in Mexico, and I’m sure Cozumel specifically is even less than the rest of the state on the mainland.

Wow seems ridiculously fussy. Listed Cozumel as unsafe.....everything about this review is BS
