This Cruise included family members, including our Nephew and his Fiancé who were wed on the ship 🛳 after embarkation. Overall the Cruise was typical Carnival. As mentioned, we were disappointed with the decor and condition of the Valor.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We were with a Wedding Party and the boarding process was effortless.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Overall the food aboard the ship (including the Dining Room, Lido Buffet & other Venues) was typical for Carnival. No better, no worse than our previous experience with the brand (19 previous cruises).
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Again, typical for Carnival.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The Singers and Dancer cast had perhaps, the best overall singing talent in any Cruise we have been on (30 Cruises). The stage shows are becoming dated and need revamped.
Comedians were good as well.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Good, not great.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
Much room for improvement. Especially the design, which is very dated and needs a serious update. The next dry dock is not scheduled until 2023.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Dated and furnishings are old. Mattress was not very good either.
Ship tip
If you want to take advantage of the Happy Hour deal at the Red Frog Pub. Get there early and be prepared to be patient. This was a good deal on the days we were in Port.
First time here. Not much to Progresso, MX. We booked with a tour company outside the Port for a tour of Merida, MX. it was a good deal for $26 per person.
I’m sorry for your disappointment especially cruising with a wedding. I find the valor decor to unique but have not found anything on her to be very dated. Overall, she and the amazing staff have always made me feel special and leave me with happy and fun memories.
Go Norwegian, you won't be disappointed! We left Carnival for the same reasons 6 years ago and have never been back. NCL has better decor, better rooms, better service, better drinks, etc, etc...
