Review summary

Choose this cruise since it was our first time, I have 16 year old twin sons and a 12 year old daughter. I am a single mother, so this was more of a test run and it could not have been a better option. It took us the entire trip to get acclimated with cruise life while not being overwhelmed. I am currently booking a 7 day trip for next June and feel this smaller trip 'learning' will allow me to take full advantage of all a cruise has to offer. Well worth the money!

Embarkation

Quick and seemless - Have your passport ready and family together, we sailed through in less than 30 minutes, start to finish.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Lines could get long for all the 'included' food options, so plan during times that you would not normally eat. The endless ice cream and pizza station was a hit for my kids!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pools are not very large and especially the main pool on the mid-Lido deck was always crowded. Made it hard to get in and cool off. But was always clean. The Lido deck entertainment was always fun to watch...all the shows were amazing! Did do the Art Auction, enjoyed introducing my teenage daughter to the experience, but we ended up leaving early because it took so long.

Children's Programs

Great set up, but difficult to help a 12 year old girl feel comfortable when she had not other traveling partners her age. Stopped by the club, but was overwhelming for her without knowing anyone. She did not stay.

Service and Staff

Everyone was wonderful and very accommodating!

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

Beds were amazing! Everything was spotless when we arrived! Cabin room is tiny, even though I'm not there to sit in a room, sometimes you need to decompress and it was difficult to do that in a small interior stateroom...

Ship tip

Pay the extra money for a window, unless you like pitch black, regardless of time of day. Charging phones were difficult in a room of 4...and one 110v outlet. We even had a 3 plug adapter. So, plan ahead!

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

A lot of construction all around the port, so made it difficult maneuvering to get to the port.

Cozumel, Mexico

Did the 3 Reef Excursion - it was amazing and just the right amount of time. Did lunch at Three Amigos and a little bit of shopping, back on the ship at 2:30 and felt we had adequate time.

Disembarkation

Did the Express Checkout, called our floor at 7:20, was in the car and on the highway by 8:02. Perfect!
