Review summary

Good First Cruise, for a honeymoon. Many people who have cruised before were unhappy or unimpressed. We enjoyed our time and it was well worth the money. Small things can be picked at but overall truly enjoyed and were ready to book our next cruise. This time a longer one on another carnival ship. You should take this one, I think you will truly have a blast.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The main dining room food was so so, it was bland for the most part. The steak tasted like it had been boiled and no flavoring put on it. Typically the Lido food deck had better food. While the food overall wasn't bad. We had high hopes from everything we had heard about the food before. We were disappointed overall with the quality of food. I would give it a 4 to 4.2 out of 5. If your going for the lido deck it is ok. The main dining food needs to be amped up if it is suppose to be the best food on the boat besides the steak place. We did go to the steak place after we ate steak at the main dining area. It was way better. Worth the $35 a person.

One Small Step Dance Club

The lighting needs redone extremely asap. The roof lights are all but out. The music speakers seemed to need changed out. Their is one way in and if their is more than 10 people trying to get it it gets backlogged quickly.

Guy's Burger Joint

Great food and service. A must visit

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The activities were awesome. TJ made the boat fun and enjoyable. The entire team made our time on board filled with different activities that everyone could find something to do.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The stage shows were ok. Bingo a lot of people did, but it seemed like a money racket and took a lot of time and places for it. The comedy R shows were amazing. One of the stage shows the people seemed to be lip synching to a recording of themselves. The final show was awesome and was a broadway quality show. The DJ was one of the best people on board. They always had new music and I don't think I heard one song played twice over the five days.

Ivanhoe Theater

Great theater. Wish they would have more stuff here like the comedy's.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our Steward was Phenomenal. We absolutely loved her. If I could I would always book on whatever floor she is working on. She was so friendly and personable. Willing to help. The breakfast delivery was great. The food staff at the main dining area were awesome. Always answering questions from us. I felt bad for them as they truly were trying to make our trip awesome, and they had bland tasting food to do it with. The only negative I would say was our hall had a massive family of like 25 people. They put all the kids in rooms together and never checked on them. We had the kids running up and down the hall until 2-3 in the am until we finally called the front desk. That was more of a parent problem, yet we couldn't have been the only person calling.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I am trying to decide to give this a three or a four. Their were areas of the top deck that they had closed down to redo the flooring. Once they got that set done, they closed another and redid that set. I understand they are continuously running the ships but can't they put the boat on rest four five days and fix all its issues? The lights at the night club roof need replaced asap, most of them were out. The bathroom in our stateroom we had, its drain was super super slow and obviously needed work on it done. We constantly had water covering our feet in the shower. Our beds were continuously cleaned properly, the linens were clean, and the staff cleaned the food areas extremely fast. I never really saw food left around or an area or table dirty for more than a minute or so. They have a great crew, probably over worked. I like the overall layout of the ship and it makes since. They need to fully enforce the over 21 age area. Their were constantly kids their looking for their parents, and young teens hiding from their parents. We went up their many times to get some quiet and wound up leaving it do to kids being their.

Cabin / Stateroom

Great size room, always clean thanks to a great steward. We heard the ocean a lot at night when we hit the waves, but other than that it was an amazing location on the boat and it fit our needs perfectly.

Ship tip

Many people say it has gone down some compared to when they went last year or even a few months ago. We had a great time and a blast. As a first timer it was awesome. If you are a repeat cruiser you may not be impressed.

Cozumel, Mexico

Loved, Loved, Loved the beach. All inclusive. The food was bland and a typical americanized mexico food bar. The liquor was amazing and strong. The instructor we went snorkeling with was amazing and truly a great find for them.

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

We just went into the town. Extremely sketchy and dirty. We decided to go back to the boat. A lot of people go to the center area we did, and then book their excursion. It is cheaper that way, the only problem is that if you don't book with carnival and you wind up late they don't wait for you. I know for a fact we left some people behind because they did that. It was to sketchy to go anywhere that wasn't prior approved as safe.

I had a good time, but didn’t like how dated it is.
