No one spoke English. According to the information prior to booking their we're activities for teens 12-15 once we got on board there were none for that age group on the daily itinerary. The food all tasted the same. The balcony was all rusted

Review summary

Will never take a cruise again. This was the worst and most expensive vacation ever. The floors were stained and dirty, toilet had feces stuck to it the food all tasted the same. No one spoke English everyone had strong accents very hard to understand. No one told us about gratuities. My 13 yr old was bored they didn't offer anything for her age group only 0-11. I called carnival to complain and they didn't care they said all we can do is document it. I will never spend money with them not will I ever go on a cruise. I have told everyone I know about our experience. And should have been honest about everything rather than trying to make a sale. Very dissapointed. We saved for a whole year for that and would have had more fun staying home and would have had money left.

Ship tip

Don't do business with carnival. I called to complain that we spent all of our savings on a cruise and didn't enjoy anything but Cozumel. Save money go stay at a resort.

Just got off the Valor on July 14th. Everyone we dealt with spoke english. Didn't see any stains on the floor. When booking your cruise you would have known about the gratuities if you read the information. Plenty to do for kids of all ages. Sounds like you didn't do any research or schedule your days around the activities. The Valor , crew, food, service and activities were exceptional for us.

Hmm... there was absolutely a group for your daughter. The kid's club starts at 2 not at 0. You should have asked about it at guest services if you were incapable of finding her group. Gratuities are clearly listed on your invoice when you booked the cruise. Probably best you stay home next time.

I’m sorry you had a bad vacation. I hope you find something in the future that is perfect for you.

Maybe I was on a different Valor because this sounds ridiculous. How do you go on a cruise and NOT know about gratuities??? That's damn near impossible.

Our first cruise was on Valor this past February and we loved everything about it! I can’t imagine not finding something to do. You do your homework so you know Everything prior to cruising and it helps a smoother time once on ship. ❤️

I thought the ship needed to be updated when I went last October, didn’t seem dirty just needs ALOT of upgrading! But it didn’t make me not want to book another this September

Hmmmm...My family just cruised the Valor in August 2017 & my kids had a blast on their 1st cruise. Ages were 12, 14, & 18. I couldn’t find them half the time because they were having so much fun. They can’t wait for their next one.

Wow.... I'm speechless. Valor wasn't my best cruise it wasn't quite as bad as yours.

We were just on the Valor in June and we loved the ship and her staff! Yes, she's an older ship but we loved every minute. Our room attendant kept our room spotless and made everything special for our 30th wedding anniversary. I would sail on her again! Sorry you didn't see the beauty in any of your cruise.

I've been on carnival before and they plenty to do, even for teens. Gratuities are on the payment screen, not their fault you chose not to pay them ahead of time. Maybe cruising isn't for u.

You have to make the fun. You can't expect everyone to entertain you. If you aren't willing to try new things, you'll be bored. There is a quote from the show Mad Men that says it best, "Only boring people get bored." As far as tips, every fee you'll encounter is 100% on the website. Do your research next time. As far as accents, maybe try a little harder to not be so racist and to have an open mind.
