Review summary

Most of the trip was good. The weather cooperated. A bit disappointed in the Country Western review show. Lacked pizzazz in comparison to the rock and roll one. The 50 yr old patron in the dining room on formal night in basketball shorts with his spit cup on the table was unsavory to say the least. Of course this with his drunken profane voice was not missed by many. The disembarkation was miserable. All 2700 passengers have to exit through a 30 inch wide gangway. the wheel chair porters have to come back up form the terminal through the same gangway disrupting flow. Missing part on the baggage pick up/handling in the onboard all-hands briefing. Most took their baggage even though if you had your bags taken off the ship by the crew (picked up 9 to 11 pm on the last night outside your door) the bags were merely dropped at the bottom of the ramp in the terminal easy to get to. Totally skipped in the talk or any emphasis on the process. Also missing is if you use the "porter" service in the terminal you are whisked away straight into the immigration line bypassing all the other 100s of passengers dragging their bags with them. No signage on the cost or the process in the terminal. The disembarkation reception terminal is an abysmal hot stuffy warehouse affair when compared with the embarkation terminal's niceties. I guess they are through with the passengers by that point of the trip.

Ship tip

have a documentable reason to get off the ship in the early departures for disembarkation: Airline ticket, bar mitzvah, lobotomy, doctors appointment. .......anything just get off first.

Beach was dirty. dead fish, loads of trash, and seaweed. Not like other beaches we have visited worldwide.

I did see that shortcut for people with porters this time. I have to think that's new and I also have to think it's causing incredible bottlenecks because I've never waited that long to disembark out of Galveston

To my knowledge the ramp to disembark is as quite a bit wider than 30". My wife and I have walked it side by side on several occasions. Luggage is put into zones. The cruise company doesn't hire the porter's. The porters are dock workers and work on tips. Sorry you were disappointed in your cruise. 🇨🇱
