Review summary

We are already looking into a family cruise with our children and adult siblings. Although this was our second cruise with Carnival, this trip was definitely one to remember. We thoroughly enjoyed the full experience.

Embarkation

Everything moved smoothly and quickly. There were plenty of staff members stationed everywhere incase any questions came up.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
No matter where we ate, the food was very tasty and there food selection was great.

Lincoln Dining Room

5 out of 5

The venue was very lovely. The staff was amazing.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Overall, there were plenty of activities to enjoy. The music, games, and dancing on the lido deck (9) was great! Tons of fun. The pool was nice, just a little crowded - but not a big deal at all. Plenty of laying out in the sun room. It was great. Everything is perspective...since this is my review, here is what I thought of the following... Fitness Center - music way too loud that I had to leave after only 15 minutes. Casino - if you can handle cigarette smoke, then I"m sure it would be fine. It was not fine for me.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were top notch! I was so impressed with the quality and energy all the performers displayed. The cruise director Brandon was the perfect man for the job. We experienced the 70's, 90's, 80's, and Country Shows...wow. Great job!

Ivanhoe Theater

The seating was great! We managed to sit within the first three rows for every show.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every staff member we came in contact with was very friendly. I"m sure learning your name is a part of the job, but I must say they were great at it! Here are a few that we had the pleasure of meeting: Antonio was our room steward. He was the first to learn our names as we were entering for the first time! Alfred, Hristuan, and Ryan were amazing in the Lincoln Dining room; very friendly and mindful of us. Great team! There was also a young lady on the wait staff that was super sweet. Her name is Pinpinat. She worked very hard and always had a smile on her face. We were able to to chat for a few moments here and there. She spoke highly of her job - which says so much about Carnival and their staff. Great experience with the staff overall.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was on the very back corner of the ship. I would so get this cabin number again if I could. We slept soundly, had an opportunity for lots of walking considering lots of eating! It seemed more spacious than other rooms that we saw probably because of how it's on the corner. It felt very private.

Ship tip

One thing I would suggest is to plan just a few things to do on the ship, but take time to really enjoy the outside view by walking around and taking it in...the view is breathtaking...

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
We did not do an excursion, but we did do a little shopping (pricey!).

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

5 out of 5
Progreso was beautiful. We went on the Mayan Ruins/Mexican Fiesta excursion. We absolutely loved it. We enjoy history - the travel guide, Irwing, was AMAZING. The shopping here had better prices that Cozumel for sure.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth...especially if you pay attention to the announcements and the staff that is everywhere directing everyone. With as many people that disembarked, I was surprised at how quickly the process is.
