Review summary

Carnival does not offer a lot of great expectations for me, based on past experience.  I have been  on 6 Carnival Cruises.  I have found that each cruise got progressively worse and was not pleasantly surprised by this cruse.  The Cruiseport is a bit difficult and takes a good while to navage.  Once onboard (at 130, after arriving at the port at 1130), we were told our room would be open, it was not accessible, doors closed off.  Lunch in the Lido deck was a pleasant surprise, the room was nice and cool and there were seats!  Food was adequate.  Then the industry's worst safety brief, standing three deep on the deck crowded together and sweating.  This is my biggest offence with the line!!  Princess, Royal and Norweigan all do this in an area in which you can sit in AC!  The room was poorly arranged nothing like the pictures of a room with beds separated, you could not walk around the room; it did look easy to change the sheets though, with tables on outside and beds in the middle of the room with three inches between them.  There was a hat under my bed from a past guest?  Vaccum much?  The headboard (cloth covered piece) looked like it had never met a vacuum.  The sheets had dirt marks on them in a few places.  The steward did not come introduce himself to us, never saw him that day; therefore, had to rearrange the beds and tables ourselves--NO! There was a little table stuffed under the vanity area that was thick with dust! Bathroom was dusted, but not corners of the shelves.   The luggage mats were nowhere to be seen to unpack.   The dinning room staff was the bright light, they were great!  Table 555 in Washington on second seating!  It was very disappointing that the entertainment did not occur for both dinners options, many were during the second dinner.  Then I had to go down to the 5th floor and get my alcohol purchase on the morning of departure; thereby having to carry it in my carry on.  Luggage went out the night before, stupid and felt like a real lack of service and care!  Overall, the food was ok to good a few things really good.  The pools were nice, not tub in the back was excellent.  I will be going back to RCL, NCL or Princess, for sure!

How did guest services handle your concerns? As for doors being closed when they said your cabin was ready, we always have FTTF and just open the doors and head to our cabin...which is always ready.

Not sure what ship you were on that you got to be in the ac for the Munster Drill but I've been on 3 RC cruises and they were all outside on the deck. 20 mins outside doesn't hurt anyone

you have your choice of king or twin when you do your on line check in

Also, the bed setting defaults to twin on the site, so you have to select king if you want them together. This happened to us as well.

Do you realize how hectic it would be if they had to take luggage off in debarkation day? Sorry it inconvenienced you to put it out the night before but they do it that way for a reason. You can keep your luggage and carry it off yourself.

Safety brief area is totally determined by ship class, not by the Company, Captain, CD, etc. Many of Carnival's Ships have sit down, A/C, briefs too. It just depends on which class that you sail.

They must have assumed you and your wife wanted to sleep in the same bed. This is common among couples, so I wouldn't take offense. I am sure everything you said is true but if that list was the only things you could find wrong on the whole cruise then I can't wait to sail on Carnival. I think you could find similar issues on every line if you want to.

A simple call to housekeeping will get your bed configuration changed.
