Review summary
Had a nice time because we chose to overlook several of the misses of this ship. Ship decor was odd- not what I would consider vacation themed.
Our cabin steward was first rate and we always came back to a clean room. Rooms only had 1 outlet in cabin area to use. In today's world of technology for a family this caused issue for charging batteries, phones and other recording devices.
Food was mediocre in the dining area/ wait staff the first 3 nights was awful ( at one point my husband did not get his dinner until we asked where it was after everyone else was served). On 4th night we finally had a superb waiter- Edgar! We left a very nice letter about his attentiveness and service!
We prebooked our excursions and had confimation emails through Carnival prior to departure. When on ship the Excursion Desk could not find any of our bookings in order to issue us tickets or tender ticket times. Our only option was to rebuy the tickets and have Customer Service refund us later--- I do not operate with a big bank account balance so this could have posed a problem. We have been home over a week and no refund has been forthcoming yet.
The shows were minimal on this ship- Zee did exhibit high energy every time there was Bingo. Our family could only afford to play Bingo twice during the week because it was PRICEY to play. We absolutely loved the Comedy Club comedians every night! That was the highlight of our day-
Enjoyed pool time and the sun even though pools were SMALL.
Loved the quality of pictures that were taken by the cruise line but could not afford to buy more than the 1 I purchased. Would have liked to had several more. An affordable option would be to offer your pictures on a flash drive and let travelers print the sizes they need.
Shopping onboard was limited and not much to offer. Other cruiselines I have been on offer new selections or sales daily and product rotation based on ports visiting- I bought 4 things on board all week. Tshirts offered were not even for the ports we visited.
For a cruiseline marketing Ship of Fun--- it was lacking in many areas ...
