Review summary

My husband and me waiting for our vacation. The hurricane was a problem but I think it was not fair that we didn't go to any other place just only Nassau. Why not cancelling or taking us to any other island ?

Really not what we were expecting. So Sad.

Was on that ship. Actually the only thing we didn't like was they went to Nassau but could have also gone to maybe Key West or other close Ports that weren't affected. Was either go or stay home and loose your money since there was no refund because there was a cruise. We did not like that Nassau was the only Port, but on the other hand had the RARE chance of experiencing a half full cruise. No waiting for chairs nor waiting on line at the buffets. We did get a 25% discount on another cruise and some on board credit added to our account, so it was an all together not a bad cruise.

Hmm! I will reserve my words. Can't make you people happy because if they cancelled you would've been saying "ughhh, why did they cancel when they could've taken us to Nassau " I'm sure you got a nice discount for a future cruise.

That's too bad. I know other ships have been diverted recently and some went to different ports. I think they would've taken you somewhere else if they could. At least you got some $$ bak for the port fees yea?

Hi betsymail59! Yes, those storms sure are making people all grumpy grouchy! My first step for you in order to feel better is to say "Grr!" out loud. This is a very serious part of the recovery process. Next, I want you to remember all of the good things that happened on your cruise. I bet there's a lot, huh? Then you need to ask yourself why did I give this cruise in its entirety 1 out of 5 stars due to this sole issue? Did you really let this one hiccup ruin your entire vacation? You must have hated "choose your own adventure" books because you could have easily chosen to take lemons and make lemonade. Instead it looks like those lemons just ended up flaring up your kanker sores. I hope you found these words both helpful and inspiring. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

so sorry that you your cruise did not go as you planned. when storms hit all cruise lines look for SAFE placed for the ships to go. An island is not like a parking lot at Walmart. Plans have to be made and docks can only hold a limited amount of ships.

Be happy that you had a safe cruise, no bad seas and no storm. The cruise contracts states that ports are not guaranteed, weather and political issues and safety will divert ships.

If you were supposed to go to Freeport, they were hit hard, and still not taking ships. Half Moon Cay is a tiny island, and had to wait for people to get out there. And as trmn8tr said, ship can't just pull in to any port. There has to be room and permission from the local govt. Sorry it wasn't what you expected, unfortunately this happens.

I'm sorry that you were not able to make it to other ports, but ports are only allowed to have so many ships. Maybe that was one of the reasons. And you did take a risk and booked your vacation during Hurricane season..
