Review summary

Amber Cove port was excellent.  They did a beautiful job, the pool and beach area are amazing.   The tour we booked thru Carnival Museums, Arts and Fort San Felipe was excellent well worth the money.   Our guide on the bus was really informative and the guide we had at the Brugal Rum factory was also excellent.   The title on tour is misleading some people may shy away from it thinking it is more Museum then anything but it definitely was only a small portion of the tour.   You really were able to get a good tour of the area.  Also we had excellent room steward on ship and enjoy the staff in the dining rooms.  Benyapha was excellent as was Prayudi and Uriel the bartender.

Not my favorite port but it was okay. Avoid Senor Frogs they charged $9.00 for bottle of beer.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

Favorite port. Enjoyed a tour that included Brugal Rum Factory and Fort and several other destinations. The guide on the bus and at the rum factory were both excellent. Highly recommend.
