Review summary

Lots of additional, hidden costs outside of cruise cost.  Additional costs for lemonade...really?  Can only get soda from the bar?  Guess who they served first?Internet costs...couldn't even text each other on the ship.  Additional costs for steak in the dining room?  Really?!  CASH GRAB.

Jenlynne26 no problem getting soda outside of a meal? I got the soda card and have 2 teens so that would be helpful info for our cruise on Valor 6/12.

I just finished a cruise on the Valor. I drank lemonade on the Lido deck and in the dining room and NEVER had to pay extra. Steak was available in the dining room several times for no extra charge however, if it wasn't on the menu that night, it was an additional $20 to eat steak in the dining room as they had to bring it in from the steakhouse restaurant.

No charges for lemonade or filet mignon or other steaks on our 7 day...

Flat iron and prime rib were included in the dining room but you could upgrade to a better selection of steak for $20 extra.

Lemonade is free. Steaks ordered from the dining room at dinner are fRee. Anything on the lido deck is free, including tea, lemonade, juices.

I'm questioning the lemonade period LoL it's like tea & water, an endless supply. unless it is now a drink you have to order how are they keeping up with who drinks it & how much.....no carnival for me til next year so I'll just have to wait & see

You are allowed a 12 pack of soda per person. Plus their water 12 packs are $3.00 if you order before you board. We took those on excursions and had plenty to drink basically for little money. Plus a bottle of wine or champagne per adult.

They still served great food but if you wanted expensive steak you paid an extra $20. My family enjoyed the the chicken and vegetarian options included. The pizza bar is open 24/7 if you get hungry later.

I believe it is still there. I cruise on sunday...I will try to let you know. I think this person is just overall unhappy.

Is the lemonade no longer available out of the fountain?

JusMe    8 years ago

Lemonade is free in the Lido all day long.   If you get it in a bar or MDR I can see a charge.   The extra for a steak is an option on the MDR menu,  there is a full selection of free food.  Soda is always charged for.

All of your complaints are pretty standard of the major cruise lines.

banaford    8 years ago

I really doubt a charge for lemonade.

earthseed    8 years ago

lemonade? That's new.

banaford    8 years ago

Never charge for lemonade. Unless you are going to the bar for some kind of canned juice. Good luck not spending as much or more on another line.

I have never had to pay for lemonade or juices in the past.

Carnival has started charging for steak and lobster on cruises less than 5 days. this policy has been in place since September. i guess it is so Carnival can keep costs down on shorter less expensive cruises but charging for lemonade that is new.
