Starting on day 2 or 3, several places around the ship, including near the casino and the Rome Main Lounge started to smell like sewage. Not pleasant, and no explanation.
Next time I would definitely go with a newer and bigger ship.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Very well organized and efficient.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food was so, so. We had two pretty good dinners at the dining room, the other two...not so much. Buffet is OK.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We played corn hole, shuffleboard and putt putt. There was a water slide for kids as well. Also played Bingo one day.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Main stage shows were decent, comedy club was good one night.
Best band was the one playing every night by the casino bar. Great variety.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
All in all staff was very friendly. Outstanding service in the dining room.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
Its an older ship and needs to be renovated or retired. All in all pretty clean in the main areas and stateroom. We did however have these tiny ants or some sort of bugs in the bathroom, plus a roach on the last day.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
We had a balcony room. Room is small, and the bathroom is in desperate need of updating/renovating.
Ship tip
Get a stateroom towards the middle of the ship as there is less movement.
Take the early seating for dinner or eat at your leisure plan, as some of the food at the late seating seems to have been sitting for a while.
Due to a very unfortunate Man over Board situation, we circled around for 12 hours + looking for the person. Therefore plans changed and we only went to Cozumel, never made it to Progreso.
thanks for the honest review. Several reviews mention sewage smell, sounds disgusting. Hopefully smell situation is taken care of. Boarding Triumph March 22, 2018 for first cruise ever. #excited
The sewage complaints are starting to turn me off as well. Iβm going on the Triumph for the first time in May. Hope that gets worked out by then. Thanks for the review
