Overall the service was great and the cruise was enjoyable. Too often it seemed that the onboard announcements, paper flyers, and information on the Carnival App didn't match. One activity would be on one and not on the other. Also, there were various signups for fitness/spa activities that weren't listed on the flyers and/or app. Lack of internet service was disappointing and frustrating. They gave me a refund vs fixing the problem. All the whirlpools were constantly full of people being served drinks from the bar. Therefore people rarely left the whirlpools which didn't give other people an opportunity to enjoy them. Also, one of the pools was supposed to be 'adult only', but it was constantly full of children who were splashing around. Would have liked a more relaxing pool experience. Perhaps one pool could be adults only for a portion of the day.

Onboard Activities

Not enough free fitness options (yoga was an additional $12 fee). Extremely disappointed when tried to attend a seminar on metabolism. Instructor showed up 10 minutes late, and then said he couldn't hold seminar because there were only 5 of us. According to him 7 participants was the minimum. Why couldn't he have just held the seminar? Many of the spa/fitness activities/seminars tried to sell products/services. I wish the focus had been on information vs sales. Dismayed by WiFI on board. Mine didn't work. They gave me a refund, but I was without internet access during the cruise. Therefore I was unable to keep up with important emails from work/friends. Disappointed that I couldn't text message fellow passengers without an additional charge.

Service and Staff

Waiters in the Paris dining room were amazing!! Service from room steward was awesome!! He always greeted us by name and asked if there was anything we needed. Even when not busy some of the bartenders' service was slow.

Staff was constantly cleaning. Fitness center window areas leaked when it rained. Water pooled on the floor. No staff around, so I collected some towels to soak up water in an attempt to prevent falls on wet surfaces. Lido deck was mopped constantly, but they didn't dry it afterwards presenting potential hazard from falling. Needed something in the shower for safety. Shower in the fitness area had cold water shower.
Cabin / Stateroom

Just the right size. No hot water in the shower though.
Ship tip
Bring warmer clothes for the ship because the air conditioning is cold even when you're sailing to a warmer port. Bring hair dryer. The dryer in the bathroom gets very hot in a short period of time, and you can't hold it any longer because it's so hot.
Excursion - Merida & Rum Tasting. The guide had great English, was enthusiastic & animated. However, he did all the talking, and didn't leave any time for questions. We stood outside a church and learned important historic information, but didn't get to go inside. Instead we went on an impromptu visit to a nearby museum. Seemed like guide was trying to sell us the rum. Longer tour, but only limited snacks available during rum tasting. Rum factory was on smaller side and wasn't much to see.
The purpose of cruising is to relax, not to work. Satellite internet is touch and go no matter what cruiseline, which is why the gave you the refund. There really isn't much they can do.
