Cruising is amazing if you research your ports and decide what you are doing before embarkation. Such is true for these locations. I will NOT be traveling on the Triumph again until after it has gone through some serious updates, if then. Great staff, great shows, great food, OK ports
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation was the same as another other cruise; experienced cruisers will make it through security without issue and expect to be herded like cattle through single file lines for no reason. I WAS impressed by how fast Carnival Triumph and the contracted company had our checked bags on board.

Food and Dining

LISTEN!!! Guy's burger joint was AMAZING!! Formal dining room AMAZING!! (and had vegetarian options that tasted better than the meat sometimes) Didn't go to the open buffet much; chopsticks was good but gave out small portions.
Onboard Activities

I'll start off positive ... Musicals and cabaret were good; one comedian was funny as heck, the other, not so much; shopping was good. I only used the pool and hot tub ONCE since THERE ARE NO "adult only" areas!!! I don't understand why passengers allow their 4 years old to dive with scuba gear and life jackets into the hot tubs. I understand these are "family" vacations but there needs to be an area of the pool where kids are not allowed, to allow all of the "family" to enjoy the vacation that the adults paid for
Entertainment

Great selection and quality of shows! One comedian was good, the other was not.
Service and Staff

These people work hard!!! Constantly cleaning and they make it their business to know your name and preference.
Ship Quality

These comments are not directly related to crew ... The vessel needs taken off line and redesigned. Lots of narrow walkways, weird table layouts and smells coming from toilet and cramped areas of the deck. Water or condensation coming from the ceiling and running down walls. This was the ship that was stranded in the Gulf without power, they should've taken the opportunity then to revamp
Cabin / Stateroom

Comfort, size was all standard cruise ship stuff. Maybe it was a little bigger, but for a cruise cabin, I found it comfortable both bed and shower area.
Ship tip
Bring cards or board games if it rains; bring a fan in case your room is hot (some rooms lost air conditioning); eat at Guy's burger joint; don't expect too much swimming, pools are small and always filled with unmonitored children
Cozumel has a lot of options for activities. Choose what suites you. I do suggest going outside of the tourist section if you can handle yourself in a foreign country and understand what you're getting into
Even for experienced travelers like myself that understand selling gifts/services is how the natives make money, Progresso is a bit much. They are aggressively advertising massages and trinkets and it WILL be overwhelming. you HAVE to find a designated activity on this port
