Review summary

Overall the cruise was fun. The food was average. The ship could use some updates and although you could see people constantly cleaning  the ship always seemed a little dirty. The big issue that I had was that in the areas that kid/teens hung out (like the basketball court and mini-golf) there was no attendants. There were kids throwing golf balls from the lower deck which had the mini golf up to the deck where the basketball court was. My son got hit in the mouth and started bleeding. Kids were also throwing the balls and clubs off the deck into the water and using clubs to smash cups. Carnival really needs to have 1 to 2 people monitoring these decks at all times before someone really gets hurt.

Ship Quality

Needs some updates and the floor on the 1st deck was always wet on one side.

Cabin / Stateroom

Typical cabin and bed was comfortable but my cabin was supposed to have separated twin beds. Instead the beds were put together and we were unable to rearrange. Also the carpet was very stained. The room was very quiet so there were no issues when trying to sleep.

Ship tip

Bbring any OTC meds that you think you may need. Paid over $11.00 for a 20 ct bottle Advil. Unless you are going to do a lot of shopping in Cozumel DON'T waste your $ on the $25 coupon book. Free stuff you get is all crap. Wait to shop on ship. You get better deals closer to the end of cruise.

Ports of call

Store owners are VERY pushy. Make sure you shop around b/c all stores have the same things but at different prices

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

Maybe Carnival should fine the parents of the unruly kids. Maybe then the parents would watch and control their kids better if they were hit with a couple of $100 fines.

carnival is too lax when it comes to unruly kids. just watched a video on u tube where teens were physically assaulting adults on the ship... security was called but nothing done. I think they gave the couple $100 refund 😒

I agree they may need an attendant closer to these area to keep and eye out for this type of behavior but parents need to keep an eye on there children/ teens and not let them run loose wild around a cruise ship like they have no home training cause every ship I've been on the kids were not wild like this in those areas you may hear them laughing or clowning around a bit but not behavior like this. I'm sorry to hear about this accident happening to your son though.

That's one of the things that has me worried!! Parents taking kids on cruise and acting like the ships staff are their personal babysitter!!!

Oh my, that's terrible. I would have come un-glued if my baby got hit in the mouth. They do need to keep a better eye on that.
