Review summary

There are several things that concerned us.  First of all:  there was no consistency in pricing on alcohol drinks. We would be charged anywhere from $6.95 to $7.25 for the same drink (at the SAME BAR sometimes) as well as at the other bars.  The waiters on deck 9 were extremely lazy.  on several occasions the waiter refused to go get ice cream cones for the machine -- they rudely told the passengers (especially kids, but also an adult) to go to the other machine.  This was Cecil's first cruise and I so wanted it to be perfect, and this was our Honeymoon.  I have been on at least 4 Carnival cruises, have cruised Royal Caribbean, Holland American, NCL Princess, Cunard and taken a barefoot cruise.  This time the food was the worst I've ever had.  I had bragged to Cecil about the wonderful food, so he thought I was crazy!  I might pay a little more with the other lines, but compared to his particular cruise, it would well be worth it.  Although I'm not sure I'll ever get Cecil to go again.

I agree. The food was not great quality. That was a bit discouraging. We did think the service was great. I noticed the difference in prices on the bar drinks as well.

Just pulled into port in Galveston after a 5 day cruise on the Triumph. This was my first commercial cruise. although the food was plentiful and diverse, it was much lacking in quality. I've been fed better in my Navy days. The staff was friendly, but again, just really wasn't what you would expect from a major cruise line company. Time will tell if I try the Triumph again next time.

The first time on Carnival was amazing! Triumph 3 years ago. Magic in August, although I still had a good time service and food was meh. Dining room service was amazing, but no where else. Cost cutting is showing.

I am confused I have seen reviews for same cruise and they say food was great. Are you talking about dining room. Buffett or all of it ? The staff should have been kinder and said please use. The other one until we can restock this one I do know if you speak to someone else maybe customer service and ask for management and report the rude staff they usually will reprimand the staff
