Review summary

The Staff was extremely friendly; they treat people so well and act like they really care if you are having fun or not. They willl go out of their way to satisfy everyone. The ship is all about having fun, and there is no shortage of activities and thus there is something for everyone, from one who wants to party non-stop to one who wants to rest and soak up sun. The food in the Paris was nothing short of excellent, as was the service. On the other hand, some days the food in the Lido had the taste of "cafeteria food" not to mention the crowds. Since the Paris was almost always open for Breakfast and Lunch as well, we ate there most meals and found it to be great everytime. Perhaps due to the location, not as many people ate lunch or breakfast there, and it was always less croeded than the Lido area. The staff was very accomodating, the cabin was clean and everything was just right. The steward was a very nice man who greeted us every morning with a smile; the drink server remembered our names by the second day and also which drinks we liked, which was impressive. SO did the bartender in the casino. The gym was a popular place every morning, and sometimes a wait was in order to get to a machine, but again the staff was helpful and encouraging. My wife went to the Spa for a few hours and said that it was a fabulous experience as well. We are ready to go again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Paris: Excellent, one of the highlights of the day was dinner. The Lido, not so good. The pizza area Looked decent (I refused to eat pizza for personal preferences but everyone else said it was good) The Grill was good; I had a veggie burger and Fries. The Hotdogs were good too. . The Sushi was a real treat, you could get as much as you wanted. And it was great. The only markdown here again was that the food in the Lido Buffet tasted not as fresh and more like cafeteria food, although keeping with a THEME that changed each day made for some variety. Some days it was good, some days, not as much. And always a long line at the Lido or even the grill

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Everything from laying in the sun listening to music to shows, we did not get to sample everything on the ship because there was so much to do.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
We never saw many kids, I guess they were occupied

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They went above and beyond all day everyday They are the reason the cruise was so much fun.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Maps are everywhere, so are employeess who know their way around the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Room was large with a large window looking out over the ocean. The Steward was excellent and attentive and we never had to ask for anything because he took care of everything in advance.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

We got in late due to rough seas (not the ship's fault) The town seemed desolate and since we are not into shopping, we spent about an hour then went back to the ship. It was clean and safe though.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

CARNIVALE (the celebration) was going on, and sampling of local food was abundant although pricey. Since we are not into shopping, we booked a cab and took a tour of the island. The island appears to center around shopping, so the people who are into that had more fun. We spent about 4 hours then went back to the ship. Probably more fun for shoppers and like I said, we are not into that scene......

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

We took a catamaran to Tintamare, Could have stayed all day. We saw the parade for the Carnivale celebration, that was great. St Maartin is more laid back and quieter than St Thomas, although shopping is still a big thing, beaches are excellent and the people are friendly. Yes english is spoken everywhere.
Don't Miss: Tintamare Island

Pros: Friendly staff, Fine Dining, lots of activities

Cons: Average food in some areas, crowds

Recommends Carnival Triumph? Yes!
