Had the best time! I recommend the Sunshine, she is my favorite, I am very sad to see her leaving Charleston the end of the year! Norfolk, you are super lucky to get her!

Review summary

The Sunshine is a really great ship. My family and I have had a lot of fun on this ship. It is my favorite and I will be sad to see her leave Charleston.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
The only down side to this ship in my opinion. Charleston cruise terminal is a bit convoluted. It was easy peasy when the Fantasy was ported there because she was a smaller ship and it could handle the amount of passengers much more simply. Now with the bigger ship AND knowing that they are leaving anyway they put a system in place of shuttle busses and 3 buildings. It works but its a process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Like any menu, some will like some things and some will like others. We had very little complaints about the food, there really is something for everyone. I am a pescatarian and did not go hungry.

Alchemy Bar

5 out of 5

If I could give it a 10 star I would!!The BEST bar by far on the ship! It always has the BEST bartenders!!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Trivia, Mixology Class, Shows, Build A Bear, Elegant Night photos, Sail Away, Camp Ocean PJ Party. There is something for everyone!

Entertainment

Children's Programs

The kids LOVE Camp Ocean! Staff is FABULOUS!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room attendant was wonderful, Always spoke to the kids BY NAME. This has been on ALL Sunshine cruises.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I love the size and layout it is my favorite ship. You CAN see the age on some parts of the ship (some rust spots on balconies and railings in particular) but it is inevitable and unless you are scrutinizing the ship it is very easy to pay it no attention.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Typical balcony cabin.

Ports of call

Charleston, South Carolina

4 out of 5

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island Did not visit port

We stayed on the ship here to do ship things.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
The improvements to this port are great!

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
Paradise...my favorite. White sand blue water. Water was a bit colder in February and in September it is fantastic.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Much easier than embarkation lol
