Review summary

We understand this was a Christmas Cruise, there would be a lot of children. We didn't appreciate they let the children run all over the ship unsupervised.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The buffet was not big enough. Should have had more selections. Dining room food was okay.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Excellent entertainment.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
The children didn't spend much time in their clubs. Most of the time they were running around the ship, unsupervised.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
No complaint.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship is old. Needs to be refurbished.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was clean and comfortable. Liked the arrangement of the cabin. Our cabin door was inside an alcove, not directly in the hall. We didn't experience the kids knocking on our door, like other cabins had.

Ports of call

Charleston, South Carolina

1 out of 5
We did not like this port. The port was not organized to entering and leaving the ship. Unlike other ports you had to walk a long distance with your carryon luggage to the ship.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

3 out of 5
We didn't do an excursion. Unlike other cruise lines, not much to do.

Nassau, Bahamas

Glad I don’t have to travel when kids are on vacation

Thanks for your review. It's sad how parents let their children run a muck and interrupt other people's vacations

On our cruise last month on the Sunshine, In early Dec kids were laying in the hallways by the teen kids club. This happened on quite a few days of a 10 day cruise. Parents expect the crew to be babysitters. Someone called security once because there were about 10 teens sitting on the floor by the elevator. We could barely get out of the elevator. 'Kids will be kids" is no excuse on a ship with thousands of people that you don't know. I would think parents would care about the safety of their children.

I have discovered that many parents let their children run wild EVERYWHERE, not just on cruise ships. It's the kids that run the household now, not the parents.

The problem is not the kids, but the parents

This seems to be a common complaint any time of the year. So disrespectful

Childrens are childrens..and its the busiest time of the year for family... It was expected... Next time pick a cruise for adult only or know for it, pick a date when kids are in school...and you'll have a wonderful time... Tks for sharing

Children should be supervised at all times and not ruin other people's vacations.

So many parents don't care that their kids run wild and ruin other people's cruises. I wish they would ban them for life....and cut off their drinks package.
