Review summary

This was my 3rd time with Carnival. I was excited about this ship because it was a bigger ship than the 2 I previously went on. But the live music and cleanliness of the ship were disappointing. I did enjoy the variety of food choices, activities, shows and games.

Buffets were just okay. The fine dinning experience was great.

I didn't really participate in any of the activities on the ship. My children enjoyed the teen area and mostly the basketball court.

I really enjoyed the comedy shows and the games. I did not enjoy the live music selections.

Ship Quality

The ship showed its age and could have been maintained and renovated. The dinning areas were okay but the hallways, and the staterooms on the first floor were dingy, dark, and poorly maintained. The carpet all over the ship needs to be replaced.

Cabin / Stateroom

Too small, dingy, and dirty. The room was dusty, there were little flies everywhere. The carpet was dirty and had stains all over it. The lighting was poor. The bathroom smelled like left over men's cologne.

Ship tip

Don't book an interior room on the first floor.

This ship had some of the best live music out of any cruise I’ve been on. The piano bar was fantastic and I the place to be every night. Hopefully your next cruise meets all your expectations.

If you don’t mind me asking - what was it about the live music you didn’t like..? We’ve only done Carnival a few times, but the variety of music is something we’ve always enjoyed. Scheduled for Sunshine this fall.

We took the sunshine in 2018 and we had a great time and that was our very first Carnival Cruise and I don't know if we'll take Carnival again depending on the timing and where they are going and the price.
