worst trip we have been on. The ship rocked non stop. Food was terrible. Expensive. Not worth the money.

Food and Dining

Some stuff was decent but not a lot of options unless you want to pay an extra fee. With the drink packages you are only allowed one drink every 5 minutes and they won't let you try to save drinks in your room for the day/night. You are better off bringing your own 12 pack which they allow, but we did not know that when we payed for the cruise.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
They have 2 comedians but the best of the 2 got sick on day 2 so we had to hear the first one everyday over and over and he had the same act each day. The only good entertainment was the cruise director Christian.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
The casino was small and sucked because it only had a limited amount of options to gamble with.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
They spoke broken English so it was hard to understand most of them.
Ship Quality

Rooms are tiny and the bathrooms are awful. The water pours out of the shower when you take a shower. I have seen half bathrooms bigger. My husband and I got a king bed, but it was really 2 twin beds pushed together and at night it would sink in. The tv was staticy and you only got 12 channels and they played the same movies over and over. The balcony is small. Not worth $1300. And you better bring 1000 because they are going to charge your card 150 without telling you for gratuities.
Cabin / Stateroom

Small and not worth 1300. Bathroom is smaller than half bathroom. King bed is 2 twin beds pushed together and at night they sink in.
Ship tip
Don't do it and research the ship you are about to get on.
The island itself looked sketchy. their were cops on every street with assault rifles and that didn't make us feel safe. We had some guy follow us for 2 miles trying to sell us weed. The people on the island harass you until you purchase something. The food and drinks are ridiculously high.
How sad you didnât do your research and were disappointed. Lesson learned. Cruising is definitely not for you. Cruise ship bathrooms are notoriously small and gratuities are part of the staffâs compensation package. Weâve yet to have bad service on any cruise and always tip above and beyond for their hard work. Hope you find a vacation venue you enjoy. Lifeâs too short to be miserable. Sincerest best wishes.
Our first cruise was on the Sunshine last October. We watched YouTube videos on the ship and the ports we were going to just so we knew what we were getting ourselves into. The only downside was our AC didn't work 4 out of 5 days, but we made the most of it. We had a great time!! We enjoyed it so much that we are booked again on the Sunshine this October. You can't blame anyone but yourself for not doing any research. There is plenty of information out there. You just have to look for it.
I was also on this sailing. Not my first carnival cruise. Not gonna lie...I think the weather got everyone down. Which in turn, makes for rough seas. I booked this ship and waited 380 days just to get a tan on the beautiful 3 deck serenity deck. But I only got to use it for about 2 hours on the last day. But thatâs ok. I really wanted Mikey as Cruise Director because i love my CDs and wanted an experienced one. When i found out we were having a newbie, i was a little sad. Turns out Christian turned out to be my fave cd so far! So, woe is you for not making the best of this cruise.
Wow. I was on this sailing, and even spent 48 hours in bed with the flu, still wouldn't have given this negative of a review. Sunshine is a great ship, but cruising isn't for everyone.
You obviously didnât do you RESEARCH, and didnât read your cruise contract. I would advise doing RESEARCH, I canât repeat that enough.
You shouldnât give the ship a bad review because you failed to DO RESEARCH!!!!
This is your fault for not doing RESEARCH!!!
i just want to end this with one simple thing please in the future DO RESEARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you had did your research you would have know that you can have the gratuities taken off your bill the day before disembarking. We hand tip every cruise. You can take a bottle of wine per adult and a 12 pack of canned soda per person. Sunshine was our first cruise and the water was super rough. Not carnivals fault. I just booked our 3rd cruise today. It is all in what you make it.
Well said Taacman This person sounds very unhappy. Never did any research and then complained about everything. Some people you can not make happy!!!!!! Love the Sunshine and Carnival
Do your research... u have ask to know about things u can it not bring on ship...
the rooms/showers are small yes , but theres also 1,300 or more other rooms on the ship... and for being â expensive â u are paying for food , travel , and room service... etc...also the 5 minute wait for drinks is not that bad...
You can not bring your own liquor or beer on board. They do not stop you from taking a drink to your cabin for later. They do not cause you to have a bad cruise you did that all by yourself!
Obviously must not have researched at all. The ship is only so big. How big could you really expect the bathroom to be? They do many bed configurations based on occupancy. Same thing. We have never had an issue with our bed. Maybe sit in your backyard and get drunk and people watch. It will be cheaper and no one will do it wrong...wow
Seems that is this the âworstâ cruise you have been in since you only have one cruise on your profile. Sunshine is a beautiful ship and we enjoyed every min of being on her. As a previous commenter said âthe cruise is what you make of itâ if you go to be super picky and complain about every darn thing then yes of course your not gonna be happy. $1300 is a lot to some people and they save that for a long big time to vacation but seems cruising isnât for you. Maybe next time get a case of beer and go to the lake and have no expectations
Wonderful ship, amazing bargain. How many drinks did you want simultaneously? All 15 for "later"? Thankfully we can all assume we will never have to cruise with you in the future. Buy a case of beer and sit in your backyard.
We were on the Sunshine when it tilted on its side and water on the upper decks spilled in the buffet had plates falling and tumbling everywhere, but still managed to have a wonderful time. Your cruise is what you make it.
Unfortunate...we loved that ship. Had nothing but great experiences!! Its all in what you make it. I can't imagine there was not one good thing on the cruise. Live and learn cruising is NOT for you!
Life lesson for you. Cruising is not for you. Hopefully you will understand this and move on. Fun things aren't for everyone. All inclusive vacations are not for everyone. Not cooking, or cleaning the room and shower, or washing dishes is plenty for most vacationers. Maybe try Amtrak. Good luck.
Sounds like you should just stay home. Would not want to be on a cruise with you. Nothing but complain complain. I have been on this ship and had a blast. A cruise is what you make it to be.
Anything you forgot to complain about? This ship was our first cruise and we loved it! Staff is great, weather is not their fault. And it is clear that you will be charged for gratuities in the contract. Perhaps cruising is not for you, or anyone who complains they have to wait five minutes between drinks!
