Review summary

We had an amazing time on the Sunshine and really enjoyed this ship quite a bit. We've also sailed the Liberty but prefer the Sunshine.

Embarkation

Our embarkation was delayed due to a guest in the previous set of passengers having a medical issue This makes it tough to give a fair rating on their embarkation process in light of the abnormal set of circumstances. Took us 2 hours from the gate to ship as everyone was boarding at the same time. Faster to the fun seamed to help speed this up a little. We lost 10 hours or so of our cruise but Carnival pro-rated the cost of our drink package amount for those 10 hours.

As with any restaurant experience there will be hit and misses, but overall the food was great. There are so many choices that you should be able to find something you like. Definitely try the specialty dining, they are well worth the extra cost on this ship.

Danu our room stuart was the best! He made sure we had everything we needed and the room was always spotless. Mikey the Cruise Director was very friendly and entertaining. Phillip in the Havana bar was great. Try his version of the Cuban Iced Tea🍹. Two bar tenders were very rude. One in the Red Frog Pub but I didn't catch her name and the other was a gentleman later in the evenings in the Havana Bar. We didn't let either of them effect our fabulous time. 😁 The staff were great and worked very hard to keep up with so many people's needs.

Ship tip

If you are motion sensitive at all, definitely bring medication. This is a very rocky ship.

This was my last carnival cruise over all the BS my last 2 has been a joke it was 11 :30 when we got on service desk was a prick but we made the best of it and now booking with royal Caribbean for now on
