Review summary

Great cruise. Lee is the best cruise director ever! Great ports and the weather was spot on!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Orderly, quick and all carnival representatives were very friendly and welcoming

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Taco bar and Guy’s burgers were really good. Dining room food was good, depending on what you ordered. Seemed to be hit or miss. I do have to say that the lobster tails on the formal night were some of the best I’ve had. They were cooked to perfection. Nice and juicy, and not chewy and dried out like you’d expect from a mass production kitchen.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Shows were excellent and the performers were great. We looked forward to the shows each and every night

Children's Programs

We had older kids with us (17 and 20)

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Lee (cruise director) was best we’ve ever had. He was off the charts good! He brought energy to every event he headed up. Not sure how he does it day in and day out. Room steward and wait staff were excellent. Carnival knows how to take care of their cruisers. Everyone says hello and are willing to help you at any moment.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Design is a bit odd. Not as open and flowing as other carnival ships but we got use to it. Ship was clean and well kept.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was clean and beds super comfy. We were right inside the doors from the lido deck and never heard a peep. Loved being steps from all the action

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Nassau, Bahamas

Port was ok. After reading lots of reviews about the locals trying to sell you stuff, I wasn’t looking forward to it. We did get approached but it wasn’t that bad. A simple “no thank you” sufficed. We walked to Queens Staircase. Yes, it’s a poor city and looks run down. Did we feel unsafe? No. People were friendly and helped give us directions. Visited Junkanoo beach. Small beach area with some good local food huts.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
It was a cluster. I don’t blame Carnival. I blame the “I’m going to ignore the rules and go when I want to” passengers. At first disembarkation call, people flooded the exit. It caused a major backup. Carnival employees got on PA system several times and begged people to leave when they are called. People still ignored it. We didn’t get off the ship until after 10am.
