Review summary

good cruise. Ship was well refitted. Food selections good even without the premium options. The southern ports seem to be better suited for shore visits.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
The embarkation process was a complete and utter train wreck. There were 3 lines to get registered: regular passengers, handicap passengers and Faster to the Fun passengers. If you were in the regular line, you were stuck with absolutely no movement as long as there was a single passenger in any of the other lines. If someone walked into the other lines, you had to let them go before you. There were no separate desks for them - just lines. So we waited as the next cabin in the regular line for about an hour (with a thousand people in line behind us) because they wouldn't let us go as long as anyone was in the priority line. This definitely cannot be policy and caused all kinds of anger in the lines. The contractors used to manage this process was rude and downright clueless as to what they were doing. I will never cruise out of NYC again on Carnival.

It seems like they should have handled embarkation sort of like Disney World handles those with fast passes. Move the fast pass line along quicker, but still keep the regular line moving too. Maybe 3-4 groups in priority for every 1-2 groups in regular. Sorry it was such a horrible embarkation experience!
