Review summary

The staff on the ship were fantastic for the most part, especially the cabin, entertainment and food service.  The pool areas are too small for the number of people on the ship.  It was blazing hot and the pools were jammed with people.  The alcohol service is slow but there were a ton of people ordering because it was so hot outside.  The food is pretty bland to accommodate all types of people and the Marketside Buffett was jammed every morning and it was challenging to find seats to eat.  I suggest the Havana Bar - rarely crowded. It was nice that the staff knew who our all of the members of our party were and knew them by name - nice touch.

Ship tip

The wi-fi service is awful. You will have to purchase the chat $5 package in order to contact anyone in your party on the ship. Even if you purchase the Social web package, it is virtually unusable.

We also enjoyed having lunch in the Hananna Bar area a few days but by mid week of our cruise, more people had discovered it so it was very busy. The continental breakfast by the coffee bar was great for us and never busy at all.

i suggest for breakfast get up and head for the omelet station at the stern behind Lido Marketplace. Beautiful omelets and great seating by the big rear windows.

Thanks for info. No, we don't dine in swim attire.

We only sit in Havana at lunch. Always open to everyone. Not sure on Dress code specifically in mdr for breakfast but we always wear whatever we are wearing that day, shorts, sundress, seems casual. I don't think I'd wear swim suits . That may be a no no. But on brunch day, try the steak that comes with steak and eggs. It's filet mignon! It's the same steak that you pay extra for off the "steakhouse selections" on the dinner menus. It's delicious and free! I get just the steak with an omelet. Not the eggs Benedict or what ever comes with it. Delicious!!

Is the havana bar open to everyone? Also, what is the dress code for MDR breakfast?

Agree, if eating on lido, seek out Havana bar. Been on sunshine 3x and it's our go to spot. But breakfast we always do main dining room, especially sea day brunch! Top notch, and always a seat and so relaxing. Good food, visit if you'd like with other cruisers, and food is brought to you! No crowds and looking for seating.

My wife and I have been on six cruises. We have booked a cruise in January on Carnival Sunshine. This is for 13 nights. We are nervous about being on a cruise that long, hope we don't get bored.
