Review summary

This was a fun time for our group of 7.  Plenty of variety for young and old with the ship offerings.  The first timers were overwhelmed with all that they could do and eat :)  We long time cruisers noticed the probably industry wide cutbacks that have occurred over the years, but still enjoyed as little or as much as we wanted to do.

The redesign of the ship made it very beautiful, fresh and new, but the added passenger capacity also decreased the public area size so sometimes a bit crowded.  The dining staff were among the best we ever had so very pleased with them even though initial booking linked all of our bookings to sit together at dinner but we ended up split between two far apart tables when we got our table assignment on our cruise cards.  The maitre de did arrange aa table together but not at our requested dining time.

Entertainment

Really didn't enjoy the offered shows...they just didn't seem as elaborate as before. We have seen Broadway type productions in the past and this cruise just had the same group singing different music styles nightly as the show. Missed seeing the first night show where they used to have "ice breaker" activities with the passengers on stage and the CD relaying all sorts of humorous stories and interactions with the new passengers.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Our 10 year old granddaughter did not participate in any of the actual children's programs, but had an absolute blast in the Waterworks area meeting and making new friends there.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Savio as the Head Waiter for our dining was by far the best ever. Our granddaughter still talks about him non stop. The housekeeping staff was okay, but seemed a bit overworked. Had trouble getting requested items for the cabin and the cutback of actual cabin service was noticeable.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful ship, but a bit crowded in public areas with the increased passenger capacity since the refurbishment previously done.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was very nice, but had no refrigerator as previous cruises did. The balcony would have not seemed small if they would have removed the barriers between our 3 adjoining cabins as we requested, but never happened :(

Ship tip

Take advantage of the open seating breakfast or the Sea day Brunch as it is so much easier to get the same offerings from Lido deck but freshly done and ease of seating.
