Review summary
Our 2nd cruise with Carnival. The entertainment was top notch. 8 nights. Many good comedy shows, two different live musical shows. Both great. Great singers. Breakfast in the dining room was great. Lunch on the buffet was so-so. Some great choices, others were lackluster. The array of desserts was minimal and most I found boring. Not much taste. And many items repeated over and over. Dinner in the dining room was palatable but not great. Some dishes lacked flavor and were not very interesting. We loved Guy's Burgers. The soft serve ice cream was rather bland as was the ice cream served in the dining room. My celiac friend was told that most anything could be made gluten free, however, she was often disappointed ... poor quality breads, not a lot of variety. I know she expected more. The ship was nice but I think the Sunshine is geared more for children and there was no shortage of kids onboard! The pool was crowded and chairs sparse. The crew is very organized and helpful. No shortage of information. We may upgrade next time to another line and hope to get better food.
