Review summary

Food and entertainment was as good as any other mid range cruise line.

Ship is under staffed, I will leave it at that.

We had the captains suite, there was bird crap on the two giant windows that face forward of the ship. From the time we walked into the room till the day we left, asked 5 times to have it cleaned and was told it would be taken care of! Day 6 they said there was nothing they could do! (right Carla) I could have cleaned it myself. (BS)

My time dining is about the biggest joke I have ever seen. Don't even bother. Asked the service desk to change it to a regular time (early/ late)  and they said no to bad. (Understand we had the Captains suite)

The ship was not even close to clean. Its old and needs updating. LOL we were told that this ship was the most recently updated ship in the fleet. OMG whats the other ships look like.

Carnival is affordable! So understand the type of people you are going to be around!!!!!!!!!

The room itself is in a great spot. Great views when there is no bird crap on the windows. Great deck. One of the best rooms we have had. Not clean and old, we didn't even think the sheets had been changed on the first day we arrived.

Ship tip

Go to Ji Ji restaurant, best on the ship. Be hungry!

I'm sorry but you sound like a snob who thinks they deserve special treatment because you booked an expensive room. Are the birds just not supposed to fly by your room?

"type of people" Wow! Thanks for including that statement so I can measure the value of your opinion. Please tell me you won't be on the Sunshine April 8. I'm warning you ahead of time that we're that "kind of people."

I was very happy w my overall experience on the Sunshine. It was sad to see those poor workers haul ass all day. They need more bartenders as 20 minutes is a really long time to wait at a bar staffed w 1 guy who needs help.

We've been on 21 Carnival cruises and we've had the best of service, food, cleanliness, and no complaints about pour cruises. why do people have to complain about something.... just to make them happy?

I didn't feel it was understaffed at all. Waiters on Serenity and in the bars were abundant and attentive. We had a crew of 5 serving us in the MDR. We had 3 room attendants. There were staff everywhere cleaning constantly. Where was it understaffed??

I agree its totally under staffed.

Be happy that the birds got the window and not you when you were on the balcony.

To what "type of people" are you referring?

great comments I agree with all lol

I love Carnival!!!!! The staff on all ships bend over backwards for everyone. Even peons with normal balcony rooms.I have been on 7 with one in October and have no desire to change cruise lines.

better yet buy your own boat and sail away by yourself. the Gilligan's Island tour would be perfect for you to try next time

rogerellenborland    8 years ago

sounds like you need to change cruise lines. if you can afford the captains suite you should probably sail on the queen Mary or equivalent.

so who should have given up their seating in the dining room to accommodate someone who didn't plan ahead to have a set dining time. you are not privileged because your good fortune allows you to book the captains suite, it's just a room. we book lido balcony every cruise and plan our activities so we never have a problem. I think (those kind of people) are a fun group to cruise with and we love Carnival. I can only surmise how you would have spoken to staff so it is understandable that they would have avoided you the best they could. Next time don't be so pious (understand we had the captains suite)lol and maybe you would have a good time.
