Review summary

I'm so glad that I didn't really pay attention to the negative reviews that I read about the Carnival Sunshine.  We found the Sunshine to be very clean and easy to navigate.  Our cabin was on Deck 6 - Aft, Cabin 6348.  It was very quiet and a great location to access the restaurants, Ocean Plaza and the main lobby.  The food options on this ship are wonderful - especially the Steakhouse!  DEFINITELY worth the $35 - wonderful evening in there.  There were plenty of different places and types of food to eat.  We were pleasantly surprised at the quality, variety and atmosphere in the Lido Marketplace.  We opted to eat there a number of times, which we tend to not want to do on another Carnival ship we frequent.   We enjoyed peace and quiet on the outside decks of Deck 3.  Great place to read, enjoy the breeze and take a nap.  Dive-In movies where great.  What fun to lay out in the open air and watch some good movies in the evenings.

We loved this cabin. On the very back of the ship, it felt like we were in a world all by ourselves - our very own Serenity balcony! The only negative was that our neighbors were a bit inconsiderate when going in and out of their balcony doors and cabin doors - ALWAYS let the doors slam. Come on people! Balcony had 1 lounger and 2 chairs which also reclined.

Ship tip

The Havana Bar, (tucked in at the very back of the ship behind the Lido Marketplace) - a great find. Could usually find a seat there when the marketplace tables were full. Was quieter and the view was awesome out the back windows. Always able to get a soda or a drink easily at that bar.

Easy walk into to town. Had a nice waterfront dinner here at "The Paddock" right near the ship.

Easy walk into town. Nice atmosphere here. Had a nice lunch at an outdoor restaurant (Le Buren?)

Love this port because the ship docks right at the beach. Lots of palm trees and chairs. Bathrooms easily accessible and plentiful right beyond the beach amidst the shopping area. Margaretville restaurant and bar there. Don't miss the pool at this restaurant. Lots of fun.

Love reading comments when people focus on the positive! I realize it's not always perfect-I've been on 10 cruises and had a bad experience on the Dream in feb-however. you're still on a cruise! Focus on the good! #positivevacation :)
