I booked this cruise fairly last minute, we had a very limited travel window to make it work and this was one of the few cruises that fit in that window and wasn’t astronomically expensive. We’d sailed on it when it was still triumphant have done 4 total carnival cruises before so I figured it was fine. Read the reviews after I booked and got concerned. Unfortunately the bad reputation was mostly true. There were many fights. The ship was often dirty and the clientele was unruly. The food wasn’t good (if you could even get to it.) our room was warm but not intolerable. The Buffett area was uncomfortably hot. Ice machines were broken and there was a bucket of ice to self serve which I… doubted the cleanliness of. My husband got food poisoning from something (it was quick onset and over quickly so doing noro).
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We had faster to the fun and got right through and sat maybe 10 minutes waiting to be called after diamond and platinum I believe. Very easy.

Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Unfortunately the food did seem worse than previous carnival cruises. Our prime rib in the MDR was almost inedible due to being about 50-75% fat, and I LOVE a fatty cut. The buffet lines were inSANE. The deli lines usually were crazy too. MDR wait times could be a while once you were seated.
I wanted to try the late night snacks but the line was easily 25-30 minutes and the Buffett area was intolerably hot.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Lots of trivia which we like, towel
Folding was fun. Pools unfortunately were extra packed and became really dirty quickly.
Water slides were ok, a bit slow for lighter people!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The 80s night was fun but the 90s trivia/sing along in the atrium was the highlight. entertainment staff did a great job.
We didn’t goto any shows.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Staff was overworked especially in the deli, pizza area it seemed.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Ship had sewage smell in the back elevators.
Often there were dirty plates left everywhere. Diapers in the hallway. More of a reflection of the passengers I think though.
Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip
It is a party ship and if you board with that attitude and enjoy that atmosphere you will be fine! If you are looking for anything very relaxing, quiet or upscale this ship is not a good selection.
We went to Atlantis (3rd time) had fun, bruised my butt on a water slide but worth it!
Expensive. Careful not to lose your locker wristband key in the rapids, my husband got flipped off his tube and the wristband came off and we had to pay 50 for another one. He was quite curmudgeonly after that. Tried to find it floating around but no l luck.
Appreciate your detailed feedback. Sorry you had fellow passengers that were slobs (leaving plates, diapers, etc.) laying around. Glad you managed to squeeze some fun out of your cruise.
Glad you were able to salvage some fun. Summer IMHO is an awful time to cruise with the crowds. But not much you can do if it’s the only time you can travel. This is my least favorite ship of the many I’ve cruised on. I think it’s cursed!
