I thought it was so so overall. People are beyond disrespectful. The staff did the best they could with disgusting guests. Ship is ok. Shows could be better. Would like a more upscale experience.
Carnival Sunrise Cruise Review to Caribbean - Eastern
Cruise was eh. Didn’t like that they changed theme nights on us or just cancelled them.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation was pretty easy and smooth. Very organized.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The dining experience was good but the marketplace had some issues. Ice machines not working so people refused to use provided scoop and instead used a cup which lead to nasty germs in the ice. Juice machines wouldn’t work. Likes of ice cream left in the soft serve machines.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Eh. I was expecting more from the shows and the bingo is way way too expensive. The spa was lovely. Very disappointed there was no 80s night or white night when it was listed online. Purchased outfits for those and they went to waste.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
I was definitely expecting more from the shows. One was downright depressing although the performer was very talented. Comedy shows were funny!
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Everyone was always doing what they could to keep up with disgusting guests. People were friendly and hard working. Stateroom was always well taken care of.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
I think the staff did the best they could. Guests were disgusting and disrespectful leaving crap everywhere. Putting hands in the ice. Leaving piles of soft serve in the trays of the machines.
Cabin / Stateroom

Great storage! Very clean. Comfy beds. Good shower! No complaints!
Ship tip
If you don’t like the party atmosphere choose a different ship.
Hope staffing issues improve. We have noticed this issue on all ships since Covid. We have cruised both pre/post Covid and it has changed greatly after Covid. Thanks for sharing
Also I’ll tell you of all our, 9 I think, on Carnival, that’s the only one like that even compared to 3 & 4 nights. If you want really more upscale try Celebrity (their food is better, but not the comedians or DJs). In general though on any line a longer itinerary and kids in school both typically make for better cruises.
Interestingly we had a very similar experience on the same ship & itinerary in April. I thought it was just the bargain deal I booked, making for an overcrowded ship that was a crazy mess all the time. Week before last when I knew our 4 day sailing on Radiance was sold out I was expecting similar but instead it was night and day, not overcrowded and ship really well kept up. Made me wonder what is the difference that makes one versus the other. I love that itinerary of Nassau, HMC, Grand Turk and would want to do it again!
