Overall my vacation on the Carnival Sunrise was well enjoyed and appreciated. There is always something to do and something interesting to try. I would definitely cruise on her again!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was smooth and easy. We were on the ship in 30 minutes or less.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
I much preferred the food option on the Lido Marketplace buffet. The selections were different day to day even meal time to meal time. The main dining room options were alright but nothing really wowed me.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There were an abundance of shows and activities on board. We enjoyed a comedy show, the Love and Marriage show which was funny and saucy. I participated in karaoke which was a blast. We attended an art auction. Even the sail away party was super fun. I wish there were three of me to enjoy all that Carnival Sunrise had to offer!

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff and room stewards were amazing. They were always checking to make sure you were having a great time. If you even looked slightly lost someone was coming up to ask if they can help you find something. They were truly amazing!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was impeccably clean. All day, the staff was cleaning something, everything. There were no dishes stacked anywhere in the main or common areas. It was also pretty easy to navigate throughout the ship. Some decks you would need to go up or down a deck or two to get around the main dining room but we figured it out by bay two.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The balcony room was spacious enough for two people. The room was impeccably clean and the bed was super comfortable.
Ship tip
Please enjoy the ship and all it has to offer and please, please be nice to and appreciate the staff. They work tirelessly to make sure you have a fun and relaxing vacation. They are amazing!
We ended up booking a tour with one of the locals for $60 for our party of two. There were about 8 of us in total on the van. He took us to all of the hot spots on the island and gave some wonderful historical facts. He even went out of the way to take us to a few liquor stores to buy rare spirits that you can't find in the US and it was cheaper and tax free! The tour was about 2 and a half hours and we were back on the ship by 1:30 enjoying lunch. All aboard time was 3:30. It was a blast!
Although we didn't want or fun and relaxing vacation to end, disembarkation was just as seamless and quick as embarkation if not quicker. The port staff aren't the friendliest people but I suppose it's hard to wear a smile when you're ushering thousands of people everyday. However, they were efficient in keeping the traffic of people moving.
