Review summary

In spite of the few things I listed above, I really enjoyed the cruise. Already thinking towards our next one. Highly recommended cruise, for the low cost. Great fun.

We had a fairly early check-in, and passed through the entire system in only a few minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

The steakhouse was amazing!!! Best ribeye I've ever had. And the dining room was very good, too. The buffet was a bit underwhelming, and I was disappointed in the lack of fruit selections.

Onboard Activities

To be honest, I spent most of my time eating, in the gym, or in the spa. The gym was well furnished, and the spa was wonderful. Got the steam room/sauna package, and was there every day. Loved it.

Very honest critique here. The show the performers gave us on the opening night was not great. So when I went to see their soul performance the next night, I wasn't expecting much. Boy was I wrong! That was a fantastic show, and I was blown away. And they topped it off the next night with their vintage pop performance. Wow! I left the theater exhilarated.

Children's Programs

I did not bring any children on the ship.

Service and Staff

So many people to point out for going above and beyond. Lets start with my room steward, Bagus. He was very friendly and did a great job of making us feel comfortable in our room. At dinner, Domingo and Nolie were so much fun to spend time with. They helped make our evenings delightful. Erin and the Fun Team were INCREDIBLE!!! So much energy! In the spa, Nadiya was a pure joy. And finally, I need to point out one particular person. As a performer, I'm sure you'd have dozens, if not hundreds of people trying to chat with you and "get a piece" of your time. I met Matthew in the gym on the second day, and had a brief conversation. For the rest of the cruise, he never failed to call me by name and make me feel like he was truly happy I was there.

Ship Quality

Clean and well maintained? Yes. Design? Good. I would have liked to see more maps around the ship, to tell you where different things were located. I wasn't until the third day that I found the deli. Layout left a bit to be desired. I wasn't crazy about the buffet area, nor the drink stations. Unnecessarily crowded. Also, I wish there were more areas to get away from the crowds. I loved the Serenity Spa area on the upper decks outside, but I really wish there were more areas like that. Finally, I really disliked that the casino allowed smoking, and that we had to pass through there to get to the restaurants. Oh, and the smoking areas outside should not be directly by the walking track.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I was very happy to have received a room upgrade from . We were on the first floor, and we loved being that close to the waterline. Our stateroom was much larger than expected, and well maintained. And Bagus did a great job of keeping it clean, in spite of our worst efforts.

Ship tip

If you want to get one of the cabanas, get up with the sun. They go quick. Take in the shows, they're surprisingly great.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Didn't spend much time there before the cruise. Afterwards, though, we visited Hollywood Beach Boardwalk, and really enjoyed it.

Grand Turk Island

Was hoping for more of a local market, like the Straw Market in Nassau. Was disappointed that it was all shops. Nice beach, though. Did not do an excursion here.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

Huge lines for adequate lunch. Tiny, rocky beach.

Nassau, Bahamas

Highlight of our trip, other than the ribeye. Did the catamaran/snorkel/private beach excursion, and had a blast!!!

It was a little confusing, with the different debarkation times. The customer line was very long and very slow.
