This Cruise wasn’t my favorite experience on board, I loved our ports and experiences we had off the ship but I wasn’t super impressed with the ship and the experiences onboard...
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Walked right on with FTTF, but everyone else was walking right on as well...so not sure if it was worth it or not.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Mixed on the food, the main dinning room had awesome service and the food was pretty good...Guys burgers was really good also, pizza, and deli were really good but the bbq place wasn’t that great in my opinion, the buffett was always over crowded so we tried to avoid it we also waited for over 40 mins for the seafood shack, so over all I’m mixed on the food.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Slides were great for the kids, we joined in a few times and had a lot of fun on them.
The pool/outdoor areas are teeny tiny, lots of people crammed into these spaces and good luck finding any lounge chairs, people go out before breakfast and don’t leave until dinner time, we have cruised before and have never had this problem, even trying to find somewhere to sit and chill outside further away from the pool areas are very hard to find.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The Vintage pop show was alright, something about it just seemed weird.
We had so much fun at the adult love and marriage show, it was hilarious!
Bingo was great, they kept it entertaining
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
They had really young kids mixed in with the 9-11yr olds, our 11yr old hated this and didn’t really want to return...our older child was with the 12-14yr olds and went a few times and enjoyed it.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Main dining room staff were always friendly and provided great service.
We purchased FTTF...bags never made it to the room until dinner time, not what I would consider expedited delivery.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Weird layout, there are not a lot of public spaces everything gets really crammed.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Ocean view room, I was actually surprised at the size, more room than I expected for our family of 4...we decided to try the ocean view room this time but we now know that we love having a private balcony to much and missed having one.
Ship tip
Dine at off times for the buffet to find a table, get outside before the sun comes up if you want somewhere to sit.
Weather wasn’t great but we still enjoyed the port, we went to coconut cove...I really enjoyed driving in and out we were able to see the countryside that we would have missed by staying in port.
Our excursion was cancelled due to the weather but we still enjoyed walked down the beach, we ate at Jacks Shack and everyone was friendly and service was awesome.
We were told over the loud speakers that good news! We have arrived extra early and they immediately started the disembarkation process, what they said over the speakers did not match what we were told the night before, or did that match what was printed off and delivered to our room the night before...it was a bit of a cluster.
The cruise director was Chris Williams (The Flying Scotsman) he was hilarious at the love and marriage show...but it was his last cruise on the Sunrise, not sure we’re he is now.
