The Sunrise is a nicely remodeled smaller ship (compared to the new ones built in the last 5+ yrs.) Carnival did a good job cramming all upgrades into the remodel so the ship has everything.
Due to the additions the ships layout isnt ideal, you need to walk through the casino to get to things which is stinky. They put the limelight lounge (comedy club) on the 4th floor in the middle of the ship and its now used for both comedy and the night club so the last comedy show is 9:30 instead of the typical 11:30.
Overall very clean nice remodel.

Food and Dining

With the recent renovation of the Sunrise there were plenty of food options and the food in the MDR was consistent with past Carnival cruises we've been on.

Many activities to do all day.
Entertainment

We enjoyed the comedy shows and the playlist productions were better than expected. The latin nights and vintage pop were good.

Ship Quality

Always clean. My only complaint, which could not be avoided with this remodel was the ships layout. You had to walk through the casino to get to the limelight lounge and restaurants which was stinky. There was also not a full deck to walk around outside other than the higher decks. Also the serenity deck, while on 2 floors didnt wrap around at the top so the space felt limited. Again, carnival packed everything into this remodel which affected the space and layout. It was worth the small issues.
Cabin / Stateroom

We had 3 of us in an inside cabin which we had not done before but it was fine. The cabin seemed more spacious than other interiors wed been in with 2 people. We had a trundle bed which was good since our daughter is 22.
Ship tip
There are lots of activities, events, and food. Participate in as much as possible. Also go to the Italian restaurant during the day when its free.
No excursion, hung out on the beach. The Carnival beach chairs are limited so get off early if thats important to you. Otherwise you can rent from a vendor. We always just lay our towels in the sand. Great water here.
We had a rainy day here, we still sat at the pool and it was a big open pool area with plenty of chairs. It may get crowded if multiple ships are in port.
