This was my first cruise with Carnival and I was not impressed. We had issues with missing luggage the first day, prepaid items that were supposed to be in the room upon arrival that were missing.
There were long lines for food, no matter which option you tried (I waited 35 minutes for shrimp) and had difficulty finding a table to eat at; except for the Lido Market. You could usually find a table there.
Also, I was amazed that there is only one place to get towels for the onboard pools. One afternoon they ran out of towels around 3:00 pm and we were told to check back in awhile.
Embarkation

Faster to fun; but bags didn’t arrive until 5:00 pm. We literally walked right on the ship but the other perks of the FTF did not happen as described.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Main dining room was excellent. The Lido Market was okay, they did have beautiful and delicious cakes every day.
The specialty dining options were good. Most of them had long lines though. You could not quickly grab something to eat anywhere on the ship.
Pizza was a great snack but often had a very long line.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Hot tubs were okay, often sitting shoulder to shoulder with folks. Very difficult to find a lounge chair. People had left towels and personal on items chairs to reserve them but seemed to disappear for long periods of time. Carnival claimed to remove these items after 40 minutes of being unattended. However, I didn’t see Carnival clear any chairs. What I did see is problem wondering around trying to find a lounge chair but couldn’t.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Bingo was awesome; they show movies every night on the big screen above the pool and provide popcorn and blankets.
Children's Programs
2 out of 5
My 11 year old was stuck with 6-7 year olds based off the pre determined groups by Carnival. Needless to say she didn’t spend much time there.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Overall the staff didn’t seemed to excited to be there.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
Bathrooms were difficult to find; long lines everywhere. Yes, I had to wait 5-10 minutes at the bar for a soda.
You could do just fine without the soda package on the ship. There is water, lemonade, coffee and tea available in various areas that is self serve.
Carry on a 12 pack, which is allowed, and don’t deal with the hassle of finding a bar so you can get a soda they have to open and pour into a cup for you.
There were not very many garbage cans anywhere which resulted in people leaving garbage around because there just wasn’t anywhere to put it.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Not bad, bunk bed was really nice too. It allowed the kids to have their own space which helped out a lot.
Ship tip
Forego the beverage package; not worth the hassle. Also, the areas around the casino have the unmistakable aroma of stale smoke.
We drove down to Key Largo before our flight home. It was beautiful and a nice way to end the trip. Would defiantly recommend this or the Everglades instead of camping at the airport all day.
Weather didn’t cooperate but still a beautiful port. We did the zip line over the ocean which was awesome. The provided a meal which was more of a snack. The staff was NOT pushy for tips which was nice. It was mentioned but left at that.
How was your cruise that bad? There’s ALWAYS a way to have fun times on a cruise especially with good friends and your significant other. I’m a younger guy 32 and always find something to do
I don't believe they promise delivery of pre-purchased items to be delivered before you arrive. I believe it is embarkation day. They are onboarding not only passengers but restocking supplies as well.
