Cabin type: Inside

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Review summary

This is our fourth Carnival cruise. We had 6 people in our party and everyone was disappointed. The people at guest services knew me by name by the third day. We were bored on the ship. The food was disappointing and the drinks at most bars were weak. The ship was so crowded it was hard to relax anywhere. We most likely will not cruise with Carnival again.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Embarkment was smooth but it took forever to leave port and the ship was beyond crowded

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Things were just okay and the same everyday. The ship was so crowded it was hard to get a seat.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
It was so crowded it was hard to enjoy anything. There was no place to sit and the deck space was small.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
The comedy was good two nights besides that the comedians were terrible. The “drive in movies” were outdated. The variety shows were unbearable, the juggler was a waste of time.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The staff was nice. However, our waiter, Sujuanana was outstanding. He was so friendly but he also gave us our space.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The Sunrise just had a makeover and I felt that the ship was dirty in areas. The bar counters were sticky and drink glasses were left around.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Our cabin was bigger than most near us. However, the kids had cabin 6406 and it was small and we had to call three out of the 8 nights to have it cleaned. We waited until 7:00pm one night!

Ship tip

Think twice about booking an 8 night cruise on the Sunrise because there isn’t much to enjoy while on the ship.

King's Wharf, Bermuda

We did a snorkel excursion and the people who brought us were amazing. It was fun and relaxing. We also went to the beach and it was the best! So beautiful and relaxing. We had a great time.

Grand Turk Island

2 out of 5
We wanted to do a beach day but the beach was rocky and we couldn’t go in the water because of the slippery rocks. Shopping was nice though.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Disembarkment was smooth and fast. There wasn’t a lot of waiting around.

Never cruise in the summer. You will always have problems with kids running around. We always cruise in September.

I feel your pain. I NEVER cruise during June - August. it is the peak season and many children and the ship is small that why you couldn't find a quiet area. but as far as the dishes and sticky bar tops that is unacceptable. I would of been complaining also. I love traveling on carnival and will be going on this ship in September.I hope these issues will be fixed.

Cruising when school is in session will probably give you a better experience as far as crowds.
