Review summary

I will not be cruising Carnival again- I prefer higher quality food and service. There were also unruly guests and a lot of pot smoking. I would only sale on a newer ship. I had a lot of fun despite Carnival’s shortcomings- but I was expecting more!

Embarkation

It went very smoothly

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The food was not very good - some of it was completely inedible. Quantity over quality!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pools and hot tubs were extremely crowded and overrun with kids - they need a dedicated adults-only pool. Activities were plentiful and some were a lot of fun! Cruise director was very energetic!!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Comedy shows and deck parties were a lot of fun!

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Service was very good but nothing memorable

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The crew tried very hard to keep things clean but guests were slobs. The ship was recently refurbished but still shows signs of wear.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
The cabin was clean however, I booked for three adults - two beds and one sleeper sofa - the sleeper sofa is very hard and designed for a small child. I didn’t sleep well the entire cruise!

Ship tip

Choose another cruise line if you prefer higher quality food and service.

The pool was very nice but the beach was dirty and the water was murky due to seaweed.

Better luck next cruise

I've thought the food was great. And have as many as 4 adults to a cabin. I slept in a upper bunk in my mid 40's. And thought the beds were comfy.

It sounds like this may have been your first cruise and you had your expectations set too high. Try a cruise when schools are in session for a much better experience. Food is very subjective, but have always found a good variety of selections and have never had anything inedible. Banquet level quality is about the best you can expect when they are feeding several thousand people 3 meals a day for days on end. As far as the cabin size, Carnival’s cabins are larger on average than most other cruise lines for the equivalent level, but I would never recommend more than 2 adults stay in any cabin unless it is a suite or larger family cabin.
