Very unorganized when trying to get off ship at ports.  Very noisy on cabin deck 6 at midnight when people are trying to sleep. I have been on 7 cruises with many different cruise lines. This was my third cruise with Carnival and was disappointed in the ship appearance.  Cabins were ok, but rest of the ship decor was very dated. Had a bad experience with Jose in dining room, but moved to different area of dining room and enjoyed dinner with Junior the rest of the cruise.

This was one of the best cruises yet.  Everything went like clockwork and the only complaint I have ever had on a Carnival cruise was crowding.  On the Splendor, I never had to wait in line for any event, meals, port, even dinner.  Even on the full day at sea and people reserving seats and then going away for 3-4 hours (which Carnival should not allow), there was always plenty of seats to be found by the pool, the serenity deck and elsewhere. A+ as always for Carnival.  Only negative is one day the Carnival Pride docked next to us and that is anything but Pride.  It was rusting from top to bottom.  One section so bad there was a 3 foot gap between the plates of the 2 desks.  Looked very unappealing and Carnival should overhaul that ship ASAP.

The quality, preparation, presentation and availability of the food. The pizzas cooked to order and the on-going soft-serve ice cream was excellent. The category of cabin that most of had was a very good size and I especially enjoyed the size of the bathroom shower. We also loved our dining room lead server, Christopher.

Second Carnival trip.  First was average to poor...this one was average to poor.

Food uninspiring.  Regular dining team good.  Brunch dining team was horrible.

Comedy stand-ups were third tier performers.

Fifteen minutes after debarking the ship back in port the "Cruise Ship Pukes" started.  Horrible!  We had noticed that in contrast with other cruises, there was no crew constantly sanitizing surfaces. 

Carnival is what Carnival is.

I liked the ship however all my feedback is for the great crew! The cruise director was awesome honestly the best I've seen, that kid can entertain! Also our stateroom steward Joseph, he made sure we would always find our room clean, he memorized our names and would always greet us. Everyone was very nice to us and that to me is very important. Thank you!

This was our fourth cruise and, since we love Carnival, we decided to book our wedding. Our experiences at the port were by far the worst we have experienced: a lot of mixed messages from the staff (including traffic officers, porters, security checkpoints, etc.), and this is considering we were VIPs for this cruise. Once we were in full care of Carnival staff, things completely changed. Ship was amazing, ceremony went smoothly and reception was flawless. The destinations (Grand Turk, La Romana, Aruba, and Curaçao) were fantastic and the days at sea were very entertaining. Everything was fine until we got back to Port Everglades again. Lines were extremely long to go through homeland security--and this is considering we were GROUP 1!!!

Cabin was dirty but nothing new for carnival. Took more then a day to get room cleaned properly. The ship smelled of sewer gas 80% of the time even just out side of the black pearl restaurant. Buffet was very everage at best. Desserts were all bad. Pizza was okay the hamburgers and fries were good at the grill. Taste bar terible no sushi bar as advertised. There were a few staff that were awesome Hadi, Edwin, Gayellpel and Pedro oh and Troy. Everyone else seemed annoyed with helping you in amy way. spa was just a huge ssles pitch to buy their products like a 45 dollar brush, massage therapy with bamboo bruised the base of my skull hurt for three days. Tandora restaurant was hit or miss. 

entertainment on this ship could definitely use improvement.  family has always looked forward to the evening dinner shows after dining, but not on this ship.  performers were not polished entertainers as previously encountered on other ships. 

The ship isn't bad but could use a little touching up. The entertainment was very good. 40 minutes for the show was perfect. The comedians were very good, especially the fun dude and Jimmy Carroll. Food at the main dining room was good, the deli, Mongolian wok, and Pirate Pizza was very good. Buffet just ok. Movies by the pool were fun. Very cold in the casino and sports bar. Overall had a good, not great, time 

We had an amazing time. We would absolutely sail this same ship and itinerary again! The ship, while a little older, was clean, comfortable, and the staff was great! There were plenty of dining options, and while the service at The Black Pearl was painfully slow every single night - the food was phenomenal. Honestly...it was great. The vegetarian feast is one of the best meals I have had - ever. Plenty of activities on board..and plenty of quiet places too. Our favorite port of call was Honduras. Belize was amazing, but next time around we will probably do a ship sponsored excursion as opposed to walking around - the amount of people begging for money was intense. We had a blast in Cozumel and loved Cayman too! Can't wait to do it again soon!

My husband and I had THE best time on the Carnival Splendor celebrating our honeymoon. Amazing staff that made the cruise something we'll always remember!

first I can say this was my first and last trip on this ship. the suite was one of the direst room I have seen the carpets look like they where 100 years old the entertainment was the worst I have had on any ship I will not give a good recommendation at all

Hospitality and value was amazing!!! Thanks to for making it easy to book a trip with their competitive deposit rate. Being a paramedic I don't make much only to get by but With the reduced deposit I was able to plan a trip over time without breaking my pocket. That was a huge help!!! ThNks and carnival!!

Carnival promised the best cruise ever and delivered! I had so much fun, customer service was great. I enjoyed the cruise director MarQ, the guy doing karaoke Lee and my room attendant Ray. The Steakhouse can't be missed,  made me feel like royalty! 

Grand Cayman - Do not do Tiki Beach as an excursion. It's not in front of a nice beach and you'll actually want to swim elsewhere. We went to 7 mile beach via taxi and enjoyed it after walking down from Calico Jacks for .5+ miles. It took awhile, but when we found a beautiful beach it was totally worth it!

Roatan - Honduras. ..YESSSS

I will definitely be going back here. Do the jet ski/snorkeling excursion! You can snorkel and see the 2nd largest coral reef in the world. I was blown away and I thought I would hate it!  The water is crystal clear and the jet skis were super fast. We went up to 50 mph on them!!

Let me put it this way.... I lost my sunglasses 200+ yards out in the ocean and FOUND them because the water is crystal clear and shallow!

Bring cash because the lockers are $10 each. My favorite port for the whole trip!!!

Belize was terrible at port, unless you like shopping...then you'd love it.

You definitely want to do an excursion in Belize. We did cave tubing and it was only $55 pp booking outside of Carnival at the physical port. LOVED cave tubing!! 

Cozumel. ..got here on Cinco de Mayo and we were going to do the twister boat excursion. All water excursions got canceled because it was raining. Mexico does not celebrate Cinco de Mayo like Americans do....so my expectations were too high.  We ended up taking a taxi to Paradise Beach and LOVED IT!! 

I HIGHLY recommend this cruise :)

We enjoyed the karaoke and especially the Asian DJ. While the singing was going on he pretended he was singing along with antics. It was fun there. The buffet needs more choices instead of the same food every day. The dining room was great and staff was great. Our cleaning staff was great and always friendly. I had an issue with the heavy door on our room bumping me in the arm and getting a gash. I went to the medical area for some band aids and they never asked what happened or looked at my wound. I tried to call the medical area from my room phone 3 times and never got an answer. So I had to ask where it was to go there. 

If you're looking for great ports and a new, updated ship, this is the cruise for you!  We loved St Thomas, San Juan (Puerto Rico), and Grand Turk-- but watch out if you don't take an excursion or stay at the Amber Cove resort in the Dominican Republic.  All of the ports were great, and we felt safe and welcome *except* when we rented a car in the Dominican Republic and tried to explore the north coast of the country.  The rental car company (National, at the cruise port) still hasn't refunded a temporary hold on my credit card (for $1000!) and once we got the car and tried to drive to Sosua (about 30 mins from Amber Cove) we took our life in our hands.  There are few traffic regulations in DR, and not many follow them anyway-- we almost got hit several times, were accosted in our car, and eventually turned around and returned the rental car within 30 minutes, fearing for our safety.  I am well traveled (including the remote regions of Africa) and I was definitely concerned while in DR.  So, be smart and be safe, friends.  Otherwise, we had amazing experiences at St Thomas, Grand Turk, and San Juan.  The Carnival Splendor is a gorgeous ship-- highly recommend.

Carnival Splendor was a great ship.  It was smooth sailing, easy to get around the ship, great crew and plenty to do, on and off the boat.  The crew is seasoned and made the whole experience easy and comfortable.  Anxiety was washed away.  All the meals and activities were plentiful.  The time of year made for very few children so chaos was minimum.  The whole feel was "down to earth" but very professional.  The shows were very good (not great) but entertaining.  comedy Club and karaoke bar was fun.  Even Bingo was entertaining.  The excursions were well thought out and full yet efficient.  The ports were safe and comfortable.  Clean is the key.  Food was exotic yet not over spiced.  Many unique and rare finds.

excursions were good. lots to choose from.  Food was all that impressive.  Seemed like same things most nights and buffets were closing(to reopen later) just as getting back from excursions.
