Review summary

I understand that disasters happen, but when they do, you should not be forced to continue a cruise to destinations you did not originally book for. If your ports change, you should have the option to cancel without fees especially when the new ports are not comparable. They could have a least given us credits or discounts. Who wants to go to the Bahamas 2 times in one cruise even if they are different islands. The private island was a joke and not even worth the time it took to get there.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The same food served over and over again. Lines were too long when everyone had to be back on the boat from the ports as most places were closed.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Could have offered more adult activities and more areas that were not kid friendly.

Hot Tubs

2 out of 5

They did not work.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
More shows in the evening would have been better.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our steward, Marvin was wonderful. The cruise director, Matey also was wonderful.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Definitely needs updating. I will never eat pink frosted doughnuts again.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Needs a little updating. Better balcony design.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Nassau, Bahamas

This was not the port I booked the cruise for and it was a real disappointment.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

4 out of 5
The waterfalls were amazing.

Grand Turk Island

2 out of 5
Should have had more time here. Not enough time to tour the island unless you got up at 530 in the morning.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

1 out of 5
This day was a waste of time. Nothing to do but sit on the beach. No food other than ship food. This port was not the original port I booked for and I was not impressed at all.

We had seven weeks and five cruises booked with connecting flights from Australia when the hurricanes hit carnival informed us the week before we were due to leave they had changed the destination for three of our five cruises had now that was fine until we found out we had three cruises going to the same destination...then a couple of hotels cancelled and flights...we had no chose but to cancel all our travel as it just was not going to happen ... No body has control over the weather things happen. If we just would of had one cruise booked like yourself and lived over in the USA we would have probably have just taken the one cruise . Carnival did not give us the option of changing our cruises or cruise dates or to cancel ... they were not helpful at all we always ensure we have insurance so put all through the insurance as we were going to loose half of the cost of each cruise which was a lot of money... But yes I think you are right if a port changes no big deal it is what it is we have had this happen many times ... but when your whole itinerary is changed you should have been given the option to change your date.... I know people go on about cruise contract blah blah .... can change your ports blah blah ...but an option would of been nice ... 🍹😎

Make the best of your opportunities that are given to you.

Unfortunately your cruise contract gives you this heads up. Its only a surprise to those that don't read the contract. They give you options, don't cruise or take the adjusted itinerary.
