Despite a terrible embarkation, we had a great time on the Splendor. This was a fun cruise and definitely made a lasting impression on all of us, especially the first time cruiser in the group.
Embarkation

Port Everglades was the worst! The staff is more confused than the 1st time cruiser. Even though we had prior arrangements due to special needs, the staff was unwilling and unable to assist us.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Typical cruise fare on the buffet, for the most part kept fresh. The waitstaff, Rey, Enrique and Budi, in the Black Pearl were incredible and made the dining experience. The food was also very good.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Pools were too crowded to get in. Mini golf was not playable due to no equipment.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Marq the cruise director was the best we've seen in 5 cruises. The shows were entertaining and definitely worth seeing. Always a great laugh, the comedy club did not disappoint.
Children's Programs
2 out of 5
Our son didn't find much to do in the O2 club.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our room steward was ok. She seemed overworked and did not get to our room till the afternoon despite saying she would take care of in the morning. As I said earlier, our waitstaff in the black pearl was fantastic.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Everything was kept clean despite the slobs who left dishes everywhere.
Cabin / Stateroom

good room and location. it was clean and kept up reasonably well.
Did extreme zip line here. zip lines are great, but be prepared to climb lots of stairs and walk up some inclines. It is hot and humid and you will sweat.
Did a private tour of the island with snorkeling (around Curacao tours). A good tour with lots of information and sites, very clear water. Unfortunately, missed out on some things due to timing issues.
Did a private tour with Around Aruba tours. This was a Hummer tour and supposed to have been air conditioned, it was not. Terrain was very rough and bumpy but made for an exciting ride.
