I would definitely not go on a cruise with Carnival again. Getting bit by bed bug is unacceptable. I showed housekeeping my injuries and nothing was done. The next night I was bitten again. I thankfully had other members staying on the ship with me and I was able to let my daughter stay with them to protect her from this disaster.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Since it was my first cruise, I have nothing to compare with. However, I felt the process went smooth once I made it to the port. The staff was friendly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
For breakfast, the made-to-order omelettes were good. The muffins and other pastries were nice. For lunch, the burgers were very good. The other options were hit and miss. Dinner at the Black Pearl was ok. The desserts were not tasty except for the banana pudding. The steak was nice. Nothing else really caught my attention.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The pool was too overcrowded. The staff needs to set certain rules. People should not be allowed to have their shoes in the pool or eat in the pool. I did not go in the pool once. There wasn't much of a fitness center.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The only activity I did enjoy was the shows. They were wonderful and on point.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Vlodomir, Konstantin and Samantha of the Black Pearl were attentive and kind. It was a pleasure to have met them. Other staff could have done better.
Had an issue with the washing machine..was told supervisor would come. He never showed up.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
I know that at least three people fell on the main deck. People were allowed to do others hair in the dining area. Visible rust around the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
My room always smelled like urine. Visible wear and tear in the room. The last two nights I got bed bug bites. Reported it to housekeeping and the front desk. Not much was done. The supervisor from housekeeping never came to report the results of their investigation. The decor is old and boring. The room was nasty. Not up to my standards of cleanliness.
Ship tip
Take your chances and go on another Carnival ship or another cruise line.
da1. you have to admit most find it strange that after thinking if bed bugs you only told the housekeeping and not made a call or trip to guest service's. then keep sleeping in the same room. Im not one to complain but bed bugs is something else. have to filed a report to carnival? why even depending time signing up for ship mate. as your so busy and all, just complain to someone who can do something for you.
Some of your comments show that some of you are losers. I did not respond sooner because I have a job and a LIFE. I was bit more than once. I did say it happened for more than one night. My room was 6465.
You hope the next ones are in my bed? Did it beat me up? Ask your mother.

unless you actually saw the bug, it may not be a bed bug and you would experience several bits not just one. I was in a resort in Florida and found a bed bug and use an alcohol wipe to kill it. we were moved to a different room, they took all our clothes and wash them and purchased new luggage for us. Here is the deal on bed bugs. You could have very well brought that in with you from the airport, rental car, a store you was in. You luggage came in contact with another passengers luggage.
Anytime I stay in a hotel, I will "field strip" the bed and the drawers.
If it was a bed bug, it's unfortunate that it was in your cabin but I feel quite sure it wasn't put in there by Carnival.
I've been on 2 previous cruises but it was Before bedbug problems. I'm going on one sept 23 and I had better not find one. We just spent 2300 dollars for this.

I find it strange that this individual has not revealed the cabin # yet. I also find it strange that a person would return to the same cabin to be bitten again. did they return to the same cabin for the duration of the Cruise? im curious to know how did this end? Aren't you?
If you were ever bitten by a bedbug it would of been a different story .. did it beat you up what a smart arse hope the Next ones are in your bed then the joke would be on you
Yep I totally agree you can find them anywhere but fast tracking rooms for impatient cruise customers is not the right thing to do as they are cutting corners to do rooms so quick is not good ... I would much rather wait people are pushing for earlier check in when it should be more important to have a clean room than be in the room before brag about it ... I would rather wait a little longer .....
wow. not a good thing to happen. I would been at customer service 5 minutes after finding this. at least they would of done a full clean and change out mattress and bedding. or a change of cabin if they had any empty. With the very short turnaround from one cruise 8am and new one at 1pm in sure not much extra cleaning gets done. in all go with the flow, but this would of been a major problem. bed bugs are found even in 5 stars hotels. You never know we're last week's guest come from. just speaking to the housekeeping crew was not the answer.
That's just not acceptable but just wondering .. do they ever vacuum the mattress??? And how come they leave the same mattress protector on ?? Is there a house keeping policy does anyone know ??to state what should be done ..carnival should of been right on top of this discussing !!!!!
