Our first one. It was ok, but we were not wowed overall. Don't like feeling like part of a herd. Probably would go on a cruise with more mature passengers in the future. Too many young self involved people there than I would normally want to be around.
Embarkation

Went well, had to ask for a few things that were unclear, but all in all smoother than I expected. Would never not have priority boarding.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

The Pinnacle restaurant was excellent. The head chef came out to meet us and did all he could to make the experience great.
Onboard Activities

Didn't participate in any, sorry.
Entertainment

Just saw one comedian and part of a stage show. They were fine.
Service and Staff

Our main dining room waiter, Joey and his two teammates, were wonderful. We had special needs for our menus and they were very good about taking care of us. On the last night we sat at a late dinner for others in our group. One waiter tried to handle our large table and failed miserably. I had ordered the NY strip from the chefs menu but got served a prime rib instead, and that took over an hour and a half to get there as it was. Our steward Imade worked very hard in spite of personal tragedy that occurred to him on the trip. He deserves a bit thumbs up.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
There seemed to be constant work by crew members to keep the areas cleaned.
Cabin / Stateroom

Nice and large. Would never consider a cruise with a room smaller than this. Spared the ship from a potential murder/suicide that could have occurred with a smaller room.
Ship tip
Book the early dinner!!!! Pay for faster to the fun priority.
One of the group booked the cabana. I think that is a must here. Mostly stayed at the pool with our grandson. Disappointed there was no beach accessible.
Did not like the loading for the tender. Priority and faster to the fun groups were lumped in with all others. Once we got to the dock there was no help there to find a way to our cabanas.
Had an excursion to Atlantis. Getting onto the buses took forever and the wait for them at the port was way to long. Did they not know we were coming?? Once off the bus our guide took off like a shot and didn't wait for everyone in the group. We had to make our own way into Atlantis and had no idea where the heck anything was or what to do.
Img1988, you gave the perfect description of a party boat. It doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it. You don't have to be a partier to go on Carnival but if you want to party, Carnival is we're you want to be.
Yep we're with you we do go to the shows and the comedy club have a drink and have a gamble have a walk then head to bed but other people do not bother us we do our own thing and they do there's we have just had our 18 cruise booked back to back for Nov 17 and never had a problem in fact we have meet some great people it's really what u make it we don't travel in the school holidays but other than that you may need to change cruise lines as celebrity was dead by 10 pm maybe that's for u but we are very happy cruises and enjoyed each and everyone we travel from Australia and well worth the trip ... relax and enjoy your on vacation ð
I think many assume that just because someone likes Carnival they like to party. My husband & I are usually in bed around 9. I never stayed up very late. Last cruise, I walked out to find our son, there were people EVERYWHERE!!! It was hoppin!! Kids, adults, whole families! 11:30pm! We sleep. But if I ever get a wild hair, I know where to go! Haha
I do understand not wanting to be around some sometimes! We mainly cruise in off-season, kids in school, Nov-Feb.
Try Celebrity...more upscale and refined, less kids, better food, wine, and service. I recommend Aqua class cabins. You get to dine in Blu (specialty restaurant for that cabin class). Loved the food and service there.
